Sheikh Khaled attempting to purchase Newcastle

To play devils advocate for a bit, crowd numbers are irrelevant in the sky era. I know i bang on about the shitpit but 'next level' as Sullivan put it has given us an increase in revenue of £11mill That pays for one of Andy Carrolls glass legs.

Oh dear , touched a nerve here mind.

anyway , you never take away how loyal the toon army are.

If it was up to me .everybody would get the same cap in spending on transfers . make it a fair game . .best of luck lads
Weren’t you getting 13,000 attendances in the 80’s?

I take it you're a Geordie pal. I used to like Newcastle in the early 90s. I went to a few non games City there. Drank with some good lads who were hospitable.

They got promoted some years later and came to Maine Road, many pissed up and shirtless singing that shit song "Eeh aye eeh aye Eeh aye oh, up the premier League we go".
Sorry, but from then on I took a dislike to NUFC. Ok, there are still some very decent Geordies about, but many feel cheated because Ashley wouldn't sell and ADUG invested in us instead. The bitterness and jealousy since is rife on Tyneside because you got lumbered with years of Ashley's fuck ups whilst we got owners who meant business. You lot remind me of a northeast version of Man-Ure. Like I said earlier, only Liverpool will be less tolerable a fanbase. I would usually always mention the rags but I pity them nowadays as they are irrelevant and mostly silent, nowhere near as gobby as Liverpool fans are and how Newcastle will soon be. I've never forget how bad we had it with Swales and Lee at the helm but Newcastle fans seem to like winding us up with the tiresome WWYWYWS bollocks. I was there, and I was also there at Sid James's park amongst you lot several times in the then uncovered Gallowgate end stood amongst 15000 or so bedraggled Geordies who have conveniently forgotten where they were not too long ago. Newcastle frequently got lower crowds than we did at the time.

I hope the the sheikh pulls the plug and Invests in Sunderland instead; )

I clearly remember Newcastle United fans waving notes at us every time they visited the Etihad.

Let's see what the Geordies do now if Newcastle are taken over by Sheikh Mansour’s Cousin.

That True Geordie bloke right now:

why the mackems , they took the piss, big style when we went down twice. also when sir bobby robson died .

we deserve better , we are the loyal fans , we want to compete . that is all

I have no beef with geordies or mackems, if you get a decent owner who invests, no matter who it is, I simply say well done. In fact to do what you have with Mr Sports Direct in charge you already should get a well done. If the takeover happens it is another nail in the coffins of those that have tried to monopolise the premier league and will hopefully get their just rewards.

Congrats on the imminent takeover, here's a list of people to block

Miguel Delaney
Ewan McKenna
Nicholas McGeehan
Nick Harris
Barry Glendenning
Matthew Syed

P.S. Apparently you will never be allowed to enjoy football again
Need to add Rob Harris and Barney Ronay to that list.

The media reaction with the geordies will be totally different to what we’ve endured this last decade. They come from a city where they are the only football club unlike us where we were seen as stepping on the rags toes and every rag suck hole journo didn’t like it. All we will hear is how there amazing fans deserve it and it will be great for the premier league I guarantee they will not have ten years of hatred directed towards them

I tend to agree but if they eventually become a regular top 4 club at the expense of United or Liverpool it will be a different story.

Why are people here celebrating about getting more tougher competition in the league? My best interest is only for City and how they can win, having another team who can spend big is not in our best interests.
Bet they wish they hadn’t voted for FFP

Wasn't Newcastle the other club that the Sheik was looking at purchasing back in 2008? He saw a lot of potential with that club too so it makes sense that he could advise a family member on that.

Hopefully Newcastle wave £200 million notes at us for mangala
