Should City Offer Subsidised Away Travel?

The bloke in charge of Ryanair is said to be a Blue,i reckon he should do discount flights for us on European trips.
Then again,if he starts charging passengers to use the bog on the plane it would cost me a fortune with my weak bladder.

Hullo, I'm fine thanks, getting very impatient for next Monday evening!! :-)

It was a programme where the Ryanair pilots were raising concerns about the Ryanair safety record and how they are allegedly encouraged to fly with the minimum amount of fuel possible.

I have only flown with them once and I vowed then never again, I would go into another airport and take a train or bus to my destination rather than fly with them, but that is based on my personal experience and others may feel differently.

Ryanair are refuting the claims and are allegedly suing Ch4 but I can't see Ch4 going to all that trouble without checking with the Ch4 lawyers. But it is all allegedly.

Yep, Spike's trips are great so roll on the season. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Rather than cheap travel which may not suit, why not discount each away ticket bought by a tenner. Same difference, more useful. Or a tenner off next years season ticket for every away game attended... But you have to submit the ticket stub, not just have bought it. This cheap travel stuff is just about publicity and benefits the minority in most cases.

I went on Spike's trip to a friendly in Hamburg in 2002. Great trip, very well organised even if most of his customers didn't want to be organised.

City, away travel, not particularly no, and here's why:

All local transport authorities should provide free/ concessionary transport to the ground from points of national public transport terminals and park and ride locations to the ground and back. Therefore City & rags liaise with and financially support GMPTE, Newcastle with Nexus etc.

All persons in possession of a valid match ticket should have free/ concessionary travel within the local area. Getting to that local area for an away game is at your own expense as far as I'm concerned.

Away match ticket prices should be somehow capped at £25-30 It's probably not possible to actually 'cap' the price as it will be restricting business, however, the clubs should agree a set recommended price

That's all well and good for saving a few quid on getting between the train station and the stadium, but I think what people are asking here is if City couldn't cut reduce the cost of the actual cross-country travel. For instance, if you take a train from Picc to Euston and back, you're probably looking at £50-60, and I may be thinking of my railcard prices there. Subsidised away travel could reduce that to £10-20, or even make it free, by coach. That's not saving pennies, that's saving most of a day's wages.

City have no control on away ticket prices. That is down to the home clubs. It's obvious there is a (large) percentage of PL clubs who won't move on cheaper away tickets prices. Peter Scudamore said as much. However, City can offer cheap away travel like Stoke and Chelsea are doing.

I think the majority of our away support would jump at the chance of getting a special train from Manchester to London if it cost a tenner return. Or a Coach. Obviously places would be limited due to the capacity of the train and/or the number of Coaches provided by the club. No doubt they would be dry as well. :-(
