JUVENTUS will make an £11m offer for Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong in the summer.
The Italian giants, who are top of Serie A, want de Jong to spearhead their midfield next season.
They see the 27-year-old as the new Edgar Davids, who was inspirational for Juventus in the 90s.
The Dutch international has claimed Manchester City must win a trophy to consider the season a success - and there can be no excuses for failure.
City are now eight points behind neighbours Manchester United after losing to Arsenal on Easter Sunday.
He said: "We always said at the beginning of the season we wanted to compete to win as many competitions as we can. We have come so far and we have just got to fight and concentrate until the end."
