Should Hodgson go?

He's a portrait in mediocrity. Of course he should go, 1 point when Costa Rica got 7 is disgraceful.

He should never have been appointed in the first place. A yes man who won't rock the FA's boat.

Absolutely useless he has no idea. And to think Sven got us to two quarter finals and most of us thought that wasn't good enough. We are zillion years off getting that far in a major tournament.

We had a better team under Sven . In fact Sven should have done better . After watching the Costa Rica game it looks like game over for Roy . I couldn't believe Roy said we bossed the game against Costa Rica . Sorry but you are living in cloud cuckoo land if you think that .

I've just seen the post-match interview, talk about lowering expectations and standards.

In years gone by there would be outrage at drawing 0-0 with Costa Rica but not now. Now we are told we 'give it our all', 'dominated' and 'created some chances'.

Martin Samuel did a good piece today in the Mail Online. He makes the point that for some reason(which has been accepted by some of the media) the England national team no longer is judged by results but by things such as preperation for the tournement and other peripheral things

His post match interview was very defensive. A man on his way out - will probably hang on until the autumn.

If you look in the dictionary under 'mediocre' you'll see a picture of Hodgson. He's had an easy ride from the press as well due to the passing of the fucking 'golden generation' - England's version of the Class of 92 (without the success).

Prandelli's first thing was to resign after Uruguay loss today.

Hodgson spending time with talking like he hopes Gerrard and Lambard wont retire from international football. Maybe he still have plans for them for 2016. What a joke...

1 point behind Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica, seriously if its done by a foreign manager he is out the door instantly. And the media goes mental if not.

England is in serious trouble, too many overpriced, overhyped players (30m for Lallana, 35m for Shaw, 40m for Barkely, come on and these players were only good for bench in first two games, imagine how much the starts cost then...)

Hodgson was building this team for 2 years tom end with 1 point in a group like this. This was a pretty shit Italy, a surprise C. Rica and a good but far from great Uruguay. No wonder Italy's only good game was the win vs England.

He is a stark reminder of all that is wrong with what the FA has become. Their recent Panel on the state of the English game and home grown talent is another!

Tell you what, let's pick people ON THE INSIDE to tell us what's wrong WITH THE INSIDE! Yep, always provides excellent analysis and solutions!!

The FA should simply increase the ENGLISH (qualified) PLAYERS PER FIRST TEAM SQUAD by ONE PLAYER PER YEAR for the next 5-10 years, until every 25 man squad contains 12 England-qualified (EQ) players. "Homegrown" is meaningless if all we are doing is creating better European players, and the plan is to improve ENGLISH PLAYERS.

In addition, you could provide clubs with an incentive for "homegrown English players," who were developed by that club for at least 3 years by age 21, by making them equal to 1.5 EQ, so that 2 "developed" EQs = 3 EQs. What this does is stop the top teams (those now protected by UEFA FFP!) using their largesse to continually poach young English talent from the other "incubator" teams.

By 2020-2025, we could have 12/25 squads in place.

Greece have played miles better than us with a collection of championship players. It's not due to lack of talent. It's a coaching problem. Hodgson is a beige Morris Marina in slip-ons.
