Wouldn't blame him if he stepped down as a result of all this cloak and dagger.

If he's failed expectations, fine, but you do so at the END of the season, not during.

Monaco move to sign up Mancini as Manchester City exit looms

The Ligue 1 new-boys (Monaco), backed by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, have approached the Italian for the second time as he prepares for his Etihad Stadium departure

Monaco have offered Roberto Mancini the chance to become the club's new manager as his Manchester City exit looms, Goal understands.

Mancini is set to be sacked by City in the coming days, with in-demand Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini expected to replace him at the Etihad Stadium.

Senior officials acting on behalf of the Ligue 1 new boys made contact with Mancini 15 days ago to gauge his interest in the project and the two parties are due to meet once more to thrash out contract details.

Mancini is already looking for another job which will allow him to compete at the top of European football after presiding over a limp Premier League title defence and Champions League group stage exit at City.

Monaco first approached Mancini last summer with a €8 million-a-year, tax-free deal to take over - an offer the Italian would have accepted had City not pipped rivals Manchester United to the title.

This year's Ligue 2 top dogs are well-backed by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, who is determined to transform them into a force capable of competing with Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain.

Roman Abramovich has already found out the true scale of Rybolovlev's ambition, with Monaco beating Chelsea to the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao after agreeing to meet his release clause.

Former Blues boss Claudio Ranieri is the man responsible for Monaco's return to the French top flight, but he is not regarded as a suitable choice to oversee the next stage of the club's progression.

If Roberto was such a bad manager, then how come he got the best out of the players last year to win us the league?

Are you sure?
Yes we were outstanding in some matches, but in others dreadfully poor
We thought the league was lost with six games to go last season. Fortunately for us, the rags fucked up

I would think he'd lose out on his compensation that way and he isn't likely to do that (nor should he).

NO NO NO NO NO.

Wembley 2011, 1 v 0 semi final, What a day
Wembley 2011 1 v 0 final, What a day
Swamp 2011 1 v 6 What a day
Etihad May 2012 THIS DAY WILL NEVER BE BETTERED IN YOUR LIFE.

Did we spend before pre season - NO, Why not?, surely Mancini wanted to.

Lost Sergio after 15 minutes of a new season
Lost the Derby after dominating the game.
Lost YaYa again to African Nations
Lost Vinny through injury.

If Mancini would have been able to buy early we may have ridden these problems.

Reach Cup Final, finish 2nd in the league, best defensive record in league.

Got stability with a successful manager, Fergie retires, Moyes will need time.

We sing his name every game, including Saturday.

I imagine it to be a difficult job to handle footballers on big money with big egos but he has done it and will continue to do so.

What a stupid idea to replace him now when we have the chance to make good early signings and be ready to challenge for everything next season.

If he does go, I wish you well, as you have given me more pleasure in the last 3 years than the previous 40 years.

Thank you Roberto.

Khaldoon you gotta let me know
Should i stay or should i go

If you say you'll give me time
I'll win the league and FA cup we'll fine
Khaldoon you gotta let me know
Do i stay we sign Isco

Its always take take take
These jornos have me on my knees
The journo pool is full of rags
Tell Vicky Kloss to get them off my back

Khaldoon you gotta let me know should i stay or should i go?

I didn't want him sacked, but given the last few days i don't see there being any other choice really, so i voted yes since know it seems the only rational decision. Just get it done as soon as feasibly possible.

It'd be expensive though.

I like Pellegrini and i think we'll perhaps be a more harmonious club with him. He might not have the flair and fire of Mancini, or the history of trophies, but if we're looking for a period of quiet, uncontroversial progression i can definitely see him being the man for the job.

No.

Pelligrini sounds like mineral water.

Peeps should be careful of what they say, as it seems that whether you like it or not he's going to be our next manager. Obviously the above comment is hardly an insult of biblical proportions, but just remember that anything you say you are probably going to wish you hadn't in a few months (or less).

I don't know what to think about whether he should be sacked or not. I think about us winning the prem and think 'no', but then I think about the amount of fuck ups he has made along the way such as mental, senseless changes of tactics; deriding our best players; his sense of pride getting in the way of our progress as a team (eg the whole Balotelli saga and those changes of tactics which clearly should have been scrapped early on) - all this makes me think we might need someone else.

Have you seen many of the players getting behind the manager? It's gone strangely silent at MCFC.

I know that stability is the key to long term success, but you need the right kind of stability. Hard call to make, all the same.
