Should Tony Blair be given a state funeral?

Not if it helps our trading partners (and we'll have to see whether it rises our borrowing costs)

This may surprise everyone but I was fishing with this thread and can't stand the smiley lying warmonger.

Genuine question though - should all Prime Minsiters get state funerals irrespective of their deeds in office?

Monarchs do no matter how good or bad they were. So why not Prime Ministers?

I said yes just to be controversial. Truth is, I couldn't give a flying Fook if they get one or not. I will sleep well regardless

Yes. Preferably tomorrow. The bent, two faced, war mongering, cottaging, customs duty dodging, freeloading, smarmy, lying twat.

You really are on a clarkie marathon today though aren't you? ;)

Can't find anything in the above to disagree with

You're terrible at fishing so I'd knock that on the head for a start.

I think funerals should be a private thing personally. The royal family due to tradition should have theirs but not politicians unless they've done something incredible that even their opponents agree with.

Osborne hasn't fucked me.

When the financial world collapsed we had companies and consumers looking to deleverage because they were scared.

So Osborne thought that the government should do the same.

So where does the growth come from? Oh yes paper assets funded by QE.

Then the whole house of cards is started again.

Correct

Whilst it might be called Quantative easing now.....its actually properly known as Devaluation.

You've arrived at one potential endgame....devaluation hasn't occurred yet, if we see significant inflation in the future then yes we will have devaluation.

QE is a bit of a step into the dark and as we can all see with QE3 the Fed aren't looking to stop until the economy recovers and inflation is a real concern, the Fed believe they can control it with other tools when the time comes....let's just say it might be a bit tricky.

The only non royal who should have a state funeral is David Beckham.
