Should we be looking at new kit deal?- new update pg34 Chelsea NIKE DEAL

Looks to me that the City Group have a longer term view on this and are awaiting the right time to negotiate a deal that covers every club in the group with a base design with local modifications. Currently New York are tied to Addidas as part of the collective deal with the league, will this continue for ever? More than likely clubs will be able to negotiate their own deal in the future.

Say whatever you want about us, but the fact is, we are the 3th team who sells the most jerseys in the world, and one of the most marketable teams on the world, yeah we had a bad season, but that doesnt affect our image out there one bit, and are still much more marketable than City is right now, so signing us for Nike and giving us that much money makes an awful lot of sense for them

let chelsea have nike I hope we fuck off the bag of shite kits that they make and find a new kit sponser when the present deal runs out.

I can't see teams in MLS be able to negotiate their own deals any time soon. It's standard in US sports for the league to negotiate a huge contract for the entire league. That's why they have a "franchise" model, because the teams buy in to the collective bargaining power of the league.

I heard a rumour a while back that MLS is moving to Nike soon, not sure if it's next season? The Chinese league also has a Nike contract for all clubs. So with City and Melbourne already having Nike, we could soon have all of the clubs in the CFG wearing Nike which would be a bit of a USP.

I said some months back that I think we're in a bit of a weak negotiating position with adidas concentrating on the Shite and Chelsea and Spurs signing new Nike deals before us. It seems like we're not shifting as many units as expected so I don't really see what leverage we've got with Nike. The only alternative would be Under Armour or NB, but they have nowhere near the distribution reach of Nike, so it might not be the wisest move.
