Silva or Ozil

Surely there's less competition in creativity at Arsenal?

This idea that Ozil has 60+ more assists than Silva in the same number of games just because of Ronaldo is ludicrous.

Silva has had Villa, Aguero, Tevez to set up and has done it nowhere near as regularly as Ozil.

I love our magician but the numbers speak for themselves.
Your saying that city and Valencia are as good as Real Madrid then? Premier league is a lot tougher league then la liga give ozil a couple of seasons then see how good he is. What top sides as he played against for arsenal?

No I'm not saying that. I'm saying Ozil has an awful lot more assists than Silva and they've both been playing at a level where they dominate most opponents.

you cannot compare ozil's record at madrid with silva at city , ozil played for a team that had half a dozen competitive league games a season ,the premier league is far more demanding even for a squad like ours . To put things in perspective ladyboy and messi average a goal a game for real and barca , but ronaldo only averaged a goal every 2.5 games when at the swamp , ozil is a great midfielder , silva is world class.

You can compare records. We won the league with 89 points it's not like we struggled in mid table. 3rd, 1st, 2nd. The majority of our games we won, while Ozil played for Germany, Silva played for Spain.

Ronaldo was a developing player and playing on the wing for most of that time so that is an incredibly misleading perspective to try and force on it. Ronaldo and Messi would tear apart our league, like they do in the CL.

They're both world class, ozil has more assists than anyone else over the last 5 years - it's not like no other players played at Real over the time but Ozil still outperformed great players, facing more competition for creative places than Silva has.

Silva wouldn't even make it into Bayern's or Barcelona's starting eleven nevermind being as good as the best attacking midfielders in the world Ribery, Iniesta and Ozil. Silva is more on Cazorla, Modric's level than the bests.

Silva is a regular in one of the greatest teams there has been, ie Spain. If Ozil who is a good player was such a stellar player why did Madrid let him go. And why weren't richer and better teams than Arsenal chasing him if he is on the level of Iniesta (which of course he isn't as neither is Silva)

When Ozil (who I repeat is a fine player) has done it at the very highest level ie World and European finals then he will have a claim to being a great player.

Disagree on both counts.

Madrid letting a player go is no indictment of the players ability. They let Makelele go who is considered by most as the best defensive midfielder of this decade. They let Robben go who is now among the top wingers in the world. They always make shit decisions on retaining players.

Winning has a lot to do with the team as well and not only individual talent, Torres won the golden boot at the Euros but no one seems to count him among the top strikers in the world, I wonder why.

It's a fair point that Madrid let some excellent players go. The claim was that Ozil could be considered (if I read it correctly) on a par with Iniesta. If this was the case (and it isn't) then even Madrid wouldn't have let Ozil go.

Again its correct that its a team game and I remember the French won the world cup with a centre forward whose name escapes me and who was poor. However Silva is not a passenger in the Spanish team he has been a regular and integral part of this special team. Torres is no longer a first choice but Silva is.

It feel weird on a Manchester City having to say what a special player Silva is.
