Trust them to do what? Look after the fans then No, after their own self-interests then Yes
 
Absolutely. Things move on and times change. Yes there was still a promotion/relegation system, but I remember this kind of hoo-har when the PL was mooted as the next big thing.
Football changes, and this is just the next big change. I'd rather be part of it than left behind. If the Sheikh knew this would be a thing, hence his investment, well we have him to thank for a decade of success. If the Super League is where his club is going to go as part of his investment bearing fruit, so be it.
My old CDT teacher used to say 'you don't get anything for nothing'. Same applies here. (IMO)
 
Have to admit it....it’s an age thing

get the impression most of us on here are .... well of an age where....

my lad takes the piss out of me for reading our posts and goes absolutely mental when he spots me typing, and is fuming that my “name” hardly disguises who I am, especially to anybody currently living in Vegas.

to me the owners could be cast as traitors in it for money etc etc etc the last 10 years have been great, I’ve done and seen things that I witnessed “the big boys” doing in Gorton during the 60s.... going on European away trips, not relying on me Dad or Uncles to take me to games home and away as we closed in on League titles, not ever thought I’d get to a situation where I’d be so spoilt that I’d actually contemplate not being arsed with going to Wembley ...ffs

HOWEVER..... it’s come with a price...ended up on fukin antidepressants by the end of 2012...nerves fukin shredded,

the British media wind me upto the top, become obsessed in hatred for many, who’d ever imagine watching an FA Cup semi final from Wembley with your TV muted

to the “ younger” fans I guess this will be progress and be exciting news and thereby the owners are I guess bang on the money ( no pun intended)

I think our site will continue and prosper as it does today as a place for old gits to “bluemoon” on all and sundry and possibly more and more of us actually never go to a game anymore but I close with this thought

Maybe in another generation when other lads have come to take our place, They will carry on the glory of the City, keeping City in first place

or alternatively
You can fuck the Sheik and his money without us “Bluemoaners” you younger generation would not have a football club to support in the first fukin place..... as I keep telling my lad

I guess it’s down to how you cope with change.. you can’t live in the past ..we’d end up like Preston Blackpool and Bolton..I appreciate that.

And before anyone asks..... YES I did go to .....

I still trust the club. I'm assuming that we had no choice but to follow the rest of the "big 6". It all feels inevitable to me. When we were in dire straights over the years I could only ever have hoped for new owners that would look after long term financial stability - that's what's happening imo now.
 
Yes.... but....the thing to remember is what is good for the club is not necessarily what I want or indeed what the majority of the fans want, that's basically why supporter ran clubs aren't especially successful
 
Football Civil War 2021 Rich Owners/Yanks v UEFA/FIFA - one set of corrupt greedy ferkers against another set of corrupt greedy ferkers.......dont forget CITY owners also investing money to make money.......will it help football lower down? NO will it be better for fans who go to games? NO - but hope I am wrong. Maybe I am just too old and this is new era of football, social media, fan experience......be all watching games via VR headsets by time I die!

My dead best friend told me he’d be done with football if we ever signed up to a European Super League .

He never missed a game home or away since the 60’s.

I agreed with him and still do now he’s gone

He knew it would happen , we all did.

So football is done for me too.

I couldn’t support another club.

Fuck the fans is what it’s all about now and motivated by money and greed.
 
I can understand the high emotions etc......but some people are really too quick to react with their sudden and immediate dramatic divorce from the club they support and purport to love.....It’s a little like a match day on here after a defeat.

ADUG have given us the impossible and unthinkable and as many people on here have stated we were/are lucky to have ‘the best owners in the world’
I would say that up to now our owners have delivered everything they have promised and more with the best players and managers whilst still being one of the cheapest teams to watch....in comparison with our competitors.

I have been watching City for well over 50 years starting with Bell, Lee and Summerbee and can honestly say the last ten years have been unbelievable and the best and let’s not kid ourselves the thought of having to go back to the dark days of Stuart Pearce etc when watching City really was a miserable affair would really be unpalatable.
I go to watch football for the enjoyment and to be entertained !

Even at the concept of the Premiership it was only the top teams that benefited and the rich got richer and the rest got left behind with the gap getting bigger and bigger between the have and have nots.

It looks as though we were probably the last English club to sign up to this (certainly not the instigators)....but really what was the alternative.........to be left behind with the rest which is no doubt what the other 5 English clubs would love to happen and let the gap become unbreachable.

Before turning on our owners, let’s wait to see what is still to come out of these plans.....I’m pretty sure ADUG are astute enough to play the waiting game here whilst keeping our options open.
