Singing section/Atmosphere

I’ve got one for the Scousers......

Yesterday, all your trophies seem so far away
Now it looks as if they’ve gone away
Oh you believe in yesterday

Suddenly, you’re not half the club you used to be
Droning on about your history
And left behind by Man City

That's very good!

This is it. Nothing to do with acoustics, where fans sit, age, ticket prices or any other excuse people delude themselves with.

90% of the ground can't be arsed, so they themselves are the problem with the atmosphere.
There's no delusion that one block under 7000 away fans is just plain wrong!

The problem is that most people are not arsed to sing, or even shout positive encouragement. What the 1894 group have done is great, but if 95% of the people in the ground don’t sing then the atmosphere will be shit. The other thing about how quiet it is means that all you tend to hear is the loud mouthed empty headed moaners, and fuck were there a lot of them out last night, cunnts

I sit in South Stand level 2, the atmosphere is non existent, We sing along but hardly anyone around us is interested whatsoever. Like Robots programmed to sit in silence! :I

I also sit in SS2 and I agree. Once you join in with a song you almost immediately feel that your singing on your own which doesn’t encourage you to get involved more.

Also, most of the little atmosphere we have cones from above me I level 3. Why don’t the singing section/1894 group make roads to eventually get themselves up there?

I also agree with the comments about the singing section. Im in there at the minute and the majority of people don't even get involved, it's purely a few that sing. Though why we constantly sing about Dzeko is beyond me.
That's the thing as well.

When we can hear them, our Singing Section haven't got a clue what to sing and when or for how long for. They'll sing the same four songs every single game, sometimes one song six times a game (each time having fewer and fewer singing it because they're fed up of it), and leave out dozens of good chants that we can sing.

Because they'd be moved for cup games so defeats the purpose of trying to outsing 7000 away fans

I sit in SS3 and get moved down to SS1 for the cup games and its weird as fuck. Up top we cant hear anything from below, yet when I go down there for cup games its usually quite lively in 115 and you wonder if any of the 7k away fans have turned up. Not blaming the stadium because quite frankly most of our fans just cant be arsed singing, but it certainly doesnt help. Time to relocate the family stand and have the entire north stand as a singing section (not that it would ever happen)

I couldn't hear one Burnley song in there on Saturday. It's weird. They must have been noisy but you can't hear anything and likewise in SS3 the songs don't travel up either.

Above the singing section can't hear us, yet we can never hear them either so just moving from one bad place to another. Also in my opinion Tier 3 is shit and half the section wouldn't move up there I would imagine. I can see why people moved for cheaper prices but just not for me.

Family stand needs turfing out when that stand gets done up and have that as one massive block. Copy Spurs and just do one tier all the way up.

We won’t do that anyway.

The singing section looks to me to be a really small amount of people, mainly youngsters and all they tend to do is look to take the piss out of the away fans instead of looking to create a better atmosphere with songs/chants that all can get involved with.

For premier league games they’d probably be better moving to the 3rd teir where there’s a larger number of more vocal supporters.

I was in 117 last night and the atmosphere wasn’t particularly lively.

I suppose cup games are a tough one because there are a lot not in their regular seats with familiar faces.

Had a season ticket in the North Stand till South Stand 3 was built and we move. I witnessed our two Premier League wins from there and can confirm it was always silent.

Don't blame the kids or the tourists, lots of long term blues who are lazy, non-supporting fans. I do remember them standing up and clapping if we scored!

I remember being looked at whilst trying to get a song going against the Rags when we were getting beat. Pathetic.

The only thing I miss is the view, 20 rows up behind Sergio's goal!

I know exactly what your saying. Ss3 is a good tier was there for the Monaco game. One good thing then from the south stand you seen the Agueroooo goal.

Eventually it would great if SS3 and 115 area all got moved to north stand once re developed. For now even though we have been trying to group for over four years we just have to cope with the seating as it is. Best option is to group up in cup games and in particular CL. We have grouped tickets once again for the Basel game at the front & towards middle 115, please join in. We prefer to group at the front and middle as we get more visual with displays, plus we try to spread songs from the back who already sing anyhow. Availability of tickets in a group also dictates where we go in 115 as a lot of the block is already reserved.

After I got home last night I watched the last 10 minutes of the match.

I was absolutely amazed at how loud and noisy the Bristol City fans were.

Where I stand at the back of 115, and under the overhang, I only heard them briefly throughout the match. I wrkngly thought they were very quiet.

As we know, the stadium is dreadful for noise to travel around it. Unfortunately this can never be fixed

8000 away fans in SS2 and SS3 sounded impressive on the TV. They are killing the home support in cup games.

Everyone must think the beer and food is cheeper or it’s 6° warmer in the family stand yall that desperate to get over there and kick the families out, hypocrisy at its best.
Cudos to those in the corner and next to the away fans in the south who have made noise since we moved to the ground but the rest of south stand with the few singers they have barley make any noise so what makes them/ you think you can fill the whole north stand with singers when you can’t even fill what you got now with singers.
There have been many attempts to put singers together in the same block for cup games by the 1894 group and I’d be surprised if they actually got a whole block together, never looked like they did and never sounded like they did, but fair play to them for trying so filling a whole north stand and maybe a extended north stand as some of you are suggesting is ridicules .
I’d go as far as saying there’s enough room for the family stand and the few hundred singers to cohabit a tier let alone a full stand.
And why would you want to move away from the away fans. Growing up on the Kippax and plat lane was special having the away fans in the cage to bounce off. Then was the same when away fans was moved into the north stand with the more vocal home fans switching Kippax corners and the north stand becoming more lively. Moving what singers they are now would sterilise the atmosphere even more in my opinion.

And for those saying time to kick the family’s / fuck the families off etc etc very nice of you . Give them a try next to the away fans they would probably make more noise then you
