Six Nations 2026

Lowest ever 6n crowd in Cardiff of just under 58,000.
This is what happens when you price out the real fans & instead go after the daytrippers & hangers on.
When times get hard on the field the daytrippers stop going, lesson for City chiefs there.
We were abysmal, nothing much to add to that
I'm guessing that a lot of the no shows probably feared what came to pass. Namely, a hiding. Not many want to see their side getting dicked.

We picked up the spoon last year yet nothing has improved we were shit in the autum matches and are still shit. all loosing captain Morgan means is Wales conceeds 10 points less and maybe scores an extra try ? fucked if I know but what a fall from grace.
Any way what a week makes England turn to shite :-)

Arrogance? Assuming the Scots would bend over and lube up?

Scots for me were second best in Italy even with the weather, but turned up big style yesterday. Even me, after last week had An England win all over that game. Just goes to Scotland hate swimming and Wales are still shite ;-)

That made me titter. Scotland are rugby's equivalent of Newcastle; shite on the road.

And yes I realise they won at Villa last night. How many away games have they won in the PL this season?

Apologies for wandering away from the topic.

Another abysmal showing from Wales.
I know Jiffy is annoying but he was spot on with his analysis. Why box kick after two phases to the most flamboyant set of backs in World Rugby.
Then you have a second row trying a grubber kick ffs.
Wales line out and scrum were good. It was time for stick it up your jumper rugby.
France were brilliant aided by some amateur tactics m.

It starts with the welsh parliament and is exasperated by the WRU. For a long time Wales punched well above its weight.

I think a lot of the day trippers still went as they slashed the ticket prices to £50 and below.

A lot of serious Welsh rugby fans just don't want to give the WRU any more money, they're just waiting for the vote of no confidence next month to kick the current lot out.

The mismanagement of Welsh Rugby over the last decade has been absolutely criminal. They make ~£120m a year and only give £20m to the regions. They dismantled the national academy that produced the Gatland generation of players and then slashed the regions budgets so they couldn't afford elite academies either. Howell the plumber is getting paid to turn out for his amateur club side, while people who have wanted to invest millions into the professional game have been blocked and chased away.

The whole thing is a gravy train for the aboslute worst kind of people. The IRFU spends €11m a year on overheads - admin, support and hospitality. The WRU spends ~£30m. IRFU spends 65% of it's money on the professional game, and the WRU 30%.

It's a criminal enterprise at this point, deliberately running the professional game into the ground while the execs pay themselves every penny they can.

Even if, by magic, someone came in and had the power to single handedly sort the WRU out, Wales are 10 years behind the rest of the tier 1 sides now, you won't see them competing for 6N titles or reaching RWC semi finals for the forseeable future.

We have the weekend 'fuck about with your mates' clubs making decisions on the pro game, it's absolutely fucking mental.
Your last paragraph hits home, we've always punched above our weight but we're no longer able to do this, as you say, it's not a quick fix.
On the club scene -
We had a chance to go in with the English clubs in the past, our historic rivals but chose the shit Celtic & United leagues instead, leagues that no one in Wales gives a shit about and never will. Oh for the days of my club Cardiff playing Bath, Leicester or Gloucester, now we play clubs we have no rivalry with and no one gives a shit.

Welsh Rugby board needs a full reboot.

It's embarrassing their fall from grace.

It would be like England football team being on a par with Gibraltar

The country needs a whole reboot. Start with reopening the coal mines.

No RFU looks after its players better than the IRFU.

Well said Sir.
The very thin veneer that coated the URC disappeared when Italian and especially SA clubs were invited along.
The WRU has assumed unwavering loyalty to the Regions and shit on the support.
I keep saying this, you need brand loyalty. Two massive inhibitors are away fixtures in Italy and SA plus the crazy kick off times.
There is a third- the autumn internationals and fourth - the league is too big.
Welsh Regions are lucky to play four home games between September and Christmas. You can bet your bottom dollar at least one will be at 8pm on a Friday. Great for nurturing your next gen fan.
The TV rights are a wooden horse.
Rant over

Not quite half an hour into England-Ireland and it's a shambles. Kick, kick, kickity kick, fumble, yellow card. Three England players, an Irish player and the ref off injured. One of the English is tactical change of hooker who seemed to struggle.

Ireland have dropped 5 pts in kicks (3 easy, 2 hard), but they're running through the England line.

Dear me, lineout, one ruck and a run in from halfway. Lovely dummy from the winger.

0-22.

Loving every moment... yet again the supposed expert pundits Dawson and Woodward shown to be just cheer leaders

Based on the pool of players available, England have been under-performing for years.

The entire structure needs breaking down and rebuilding.
