Sky Sports Deals

I'm not sure how much you should be paying for that package pal as I don't have some of those.

I pay £66 a month for Sky fibre optic BB, sky box sets, Netflix, sky go and Sports HD.

The chat thing is really good, I did it whilst at work and spent ages playing hardball. I entioned I was leaving etc. Check some of the deals Virgin are offering as well and mention you will join virgin, they should come back to you with a decent offer.

If they aren't offering what you want, then don't be afraid to walk away, they will call you back within a week or so.

I forgot i have netflix aswell

cool, good shout on Virgin - I have pretty much the same as you but no broadband and i'm paying more

Their call staff in South Africa are so incompetent and are slimey lying bastards. I spent a good 30 minutes on the phone sorting out my renewal, long story short they sorted me out with my existing package and upgraded Netflix for an extra £4 a month on top of what I was previously paying - I'm happy with that. I ran through all the details verbally over the phone and was happy with the monthly payments for next 18 months.

I get the contract through and what has been entered is completely different and my monthly payments are due to be £125 a month from end of Jan. Not only had she fucked up the Netflix upgrade, she added MUTV!! I phoned back suggesting it was an admin error but I was told it wasn't and that it will be £125 a month etc. So what was put through was completely different to what was verbally agreed on the call. Slimey

Calling the cancellations department tomorrow and getting a dodgy box.

Fucking Rag!

Their call centre used to be in the UK and you received a much better service. Had a painstaking hour and 15 minutes trying to sort a renewal out. They also wacked on a £30 admin fee which they didn't mention over the phone. I eventually got this removed as I read on twitter it should only be £10.

Is this a good deal in the current climate for £75 a month...?

Sky sports HD
Sky Box Sets
Netflix
Broadband fibre optic

I was paying £66.50 a month for the above. I challenged what extra value am I getting for paying an additional £8.50 a month for the existing BB but they said they said its a fixed increase and can't offer any more discount. I know he was lying.

Next time round I'm going to cancel in advance of the renewal. Get cheap BB elsewhere and get a dodgy box.

That's not a bad deal at £75pcm if it suits yourself. Yes, there'll be cheaper 'options' but if you want to stick with Sky then it's not too bad at all. I think mine is up in May which is something to (not) look forward to.

Won’t the phone call have been recorded?
Might be worth asking them for a copy just to put the onus back on them .

It depends if you need to record/rewind programming because Now Sport is usually available for about £25pm + £5pm for HD. Entertainment is usually around £10pm (although last time I looked it wasn’t exactly the same as Sky programming) and Netflix UHD £17 I think. That’s £57 pm plus whatever your broadband costs. However you can get better deals, can switch them on/off without penalty as needed and there’s no haggling at the end of the contract.

I have Now Sport £25, Entertainment £3, Netflix HD £10, so £38 plus fibre. I don’t find the standard picture too bad so don’t pay the £5 HD boost.

Good luck and watch out when you renew.

Their sales reps are lying bastards. The rep said £28 a month for super fast broadband is the cheapest rate. There's an advert online that it is £23 for existing customers so had to phone back up to get this changed. They said they will change it but will take 10 working days to amend my bill which is bollocks as it took 2 minutes to amend the renewal earlier. They then tried to charge me a £20 admin fee to do this, told them to remove the admin fee as I've had to phone back due to their colleagues lying.

Snake oil salesmen

Cut them off entirely and don't waste your money on them anymore. Whole industry needs a reset, and only declining companies offer up crap like Sky Glass TVs.
Can only see more and more people doing this as the cost of living crisis really starts to bite.

Ditched mine years ago and I honestly don't miss it (although IPTV helps with that). The only thing we did initially miss was the pause/rewind but you get used to that and we watch most stuff on the catch-up/iPlayer/hubs now anyway.
