Sky TV Going Up To £107 a month for multiroom.****Update***** Page 6.

I am going to ditch Sky, now that European footy and Test cricket are on BT, and some of their more intelligent programmes are on Freeview anyway now (Sky Arts, PBS America, Talking Pictures TV, etc.)

Just given 31 days notice to SKY. IPTV seems to be a popular choice with people on here. Will we still be able to receive SKY/BT sports,SKY cinema etc with an IPTV provider? Best company to go with and best box for my money? Thanks.

i fucked sky off when it went up from £17 a month to £20, it was that long ago!
Remember taking our first born out for first time and thought I'd treat myself to sky as I won't be going far for a while, £17 all in so that must 1995.
Still with them but only the basic HD package for the wife/ convenience and broadband.

I paid £19.99 pm around that time but you also had to buy your own box which was around £200 or maybe more.

You’ll be able to get whatever you want but don’t forget there’s a reason it’s very cheap. I’m not comfortable with it myself because I don’t know where the money ends up.

My advice with IPTV would be try it out before you get rid of sky.

You've got to be prepared to be without WHEN it goes down (and don't let anybody tell you it won't, even if it's just for a few hours every now and again)

You've also got to be a bit technical for changing apps/settings regularly, especially if your internet provider do blocks when the footballs on (nothing a VPN won't sort, some providers now build in VPNs in their apps)

And worst case, be prepared to lose the yearly subscription fee. (I've lost out once when my supplier of the previous 2 years got raided just after I'd handed over £50 renewal.

If you can live with the above then ditch. I got rid years ago for IPTV and haven't looked back but I've family who've jumped in, couldn't be arsed keeping up with the maintenance of it and have gone back to sky.

I went through this all with Sky recently and cancelled Netflix off the bill to get it lower but they actually forgot to cancel Netflix so Im getting it for free now :D
