Sleep

I've taken diazepam and zopiclone in the past put I swear by these. Take one and you'll be asleep within 30 mins and will get at least 6-8 hours.

No side effects the next day like grogginess either.
I haven't slept well for ages.I got some Sleepeaze tablets from Boots two weeks ago and was a bit dubious as the name sounds like something from the Beano. However, had two weeks of seven-hour-a-night solid kip since I got them, and,as you say,no after-effects.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Sorry thought it was a command from my hypnotherapist.

I just struggle to switch off but probably a few factors involved.
I'm starting to get to bed earlier now (instead of midnight I try for 11 - 11:30).

Trouble is, by the time I finish work, head to the kids to say hello and off to the gym (and my daughter usually comes along too) then take her home....then get back 9ish, make my dinner then catch a boxset it's 11 o clock.
I need this time. I have '8 hours' but they're not deep sleep - maybe catch a few hours at best.

Once I move I'll sort a new bed and decent mattress out too and get back to book reading.

Hate having tired eyes during the day, especially after eating healthily, drinking water, not drinking alcohol (bar Saturday evening) and all this exercise.

I tried some music last night (Jon Hopkins Music for psychedelic therapy - very good btw) but when it had finished I had to take the earphones out and was essentially away again :(

I'm more settled in life so I have less black dog visits at 4am....they were never pleasant.

Anybody have trouble sleeping deeply/fully and this in turn affecting their health or energy the next day?

I've had a few rum years but huge turn around and I'm generally pretty content. I have a lot of energy and tend to be at the gym most days and if not I'll be running.
I eat pretty healthily and drink a small amount at the weekend (and then it's just a few glasses of wine and a beer on a Saturday evening) unless I go out (which tbf I did last weekend....and a few after work on a rare office visit).

But for at least the past couple of years I've struggled to get one decent nights sleep. I suspect it's a behavioural change before I consider any form of meds.

I tend to never get to bed before midnight and that's after watching a boxset then scribbling around on my phone/laptop.

I'm a light sleeper so wear ear plugs (but also have tinnitus which doesn't help). I then usually wake 4/5 wish then just toss and turn till I get up. Try to get 7/8 hours sleep (which I do in terms of being in bed) but there's littler deep sleep going on here. No REM/dream state.

Could be the mattress is awful too. In fact there's probably a few variables but my eyes feel tired and a little red in the day (and I do take pride in my appearance so this that's a bit of a downer).

Tried those meditation apps (I used them when I was particularly low a couple of years back after a seperation) and these were great.....until they finished and I have to remove my ear phones - perhaps one to try again.

Take all the vits etc....but I get these really tired eyes/lethargy and have to put it down to poor sleep.

Recently start heading to bed an hour early and reading for ten. Fell off that wagon a few times but will keep at it.

Also, I do the gym in the evening (some say not too) but I either go with my daughter at that time, or just like the fact it's a bustling community then.

Any thoughts?

Try pulling the covers back on your bed…. Open the windows and let the temperature fall in the bedroom. When you go to bed shut the windows and get into bed… it’ll be cold when you get in but you’ll quickly warm up - the sudden change in temperature will help get you into a deep sleep.

Two weeks ago I stayed over one night at the kids as there mother was away.
I light sleep at the best of times and I'd forgotten my ear plugs (those industrial rubber mushroom ones) and didn't get one minutes sleep due to a fucking weird bird outside ALL night.

There again this weekend and last night (with ear plugs) same happened again (no bird this time).
This is the weekend I wanted to really rest up after Covid last week and I've been like a Zombie all day (he says, typing at 12:40am).
I think the house is haunted but my eyes are like proverbial piss-holes in the snow.

I think once I nail my sleep patterns I'll have done as moch as I can to surf life quite healthily, but it's an ongoing wrestle.

I dont have problems getting of to sleep but just wish I could stop waking at 5am on the dot !

For over 25 years that was the time I woke for work. For the last 7 years I need to wake at 7am for work. My body clock is stuck at 5am.

I struggle with sleep since taking chemo I use starpowa snooze gummies herbal remedy helps a bit

I have terrible sleep issues.
Because of my hip arthritis (waiting for a new right hip) every time I move when asleep the pain wakes me and it takes ages to find a pain free position to nod off.
This happens several times a night, on top of getting up for a piss regularly.

I am similar, it is pain that keeps me awake for hours, not much you can do between pain killers, i have a tempur mattress but it is any pressure on either hip, just get used to it i guess
