Sleep

Try one tablet of either of these, one hour before you go to bed (Short term use only...3-4 days)

No Prescription needed, cost around £7.00.

Boots Sleepeze or Nytol one a night. (Same thing really)

Keep away from children.

They certainly work for me, with no side affects.

Reduce fat percentage
Increase fitness
Increase strength
Do enough physical activity in a day to be tired at night
Stay hydrated!
East enough protein
Eat enough vitamins+minerals
Try and avoid stress (meditation/massage/hydrotherapy helps)
Get plenty of fresh air through the day, also keep windows open to allow for good ventilation and getting fresh air during the night
Increase sexual activity
Avoid tv and mobile devices within a few hours before bed
Avoid eating within four hours of going to bed
Get good pillows, even very expensive ones, they can be the best investment you’ll make
Keep bedsheets clean and fresh (change them regularly)
Make sure you get into bed clean and fresh yourself
Make sure the first thing you do in the morning is making your bed, so that by the time you get to the nighttime and it’s time to get into bed, the bed is nice to get into (making your bed as soon as you get up also puts you in the right frame of mind for the day ahead, as you’ve already ticked off job #1)
Don’t put off jobs that need doing, otherwise they’ll be on your mind at night in bed - get a To-Do list and get the jobs done, pay your debts, apologise to the missus, clear your conscience…
I'm tired just reading all that!

Shift worker, body clock's goosed.
Finished nights Monday morning 0700hrs,back in Wednesday 0630hrs.
Yuk
Sympathies with this. Nights are horrendous and ruined my sleep patterns. Worked night and days for years and only survives with nytol, paracetamol and Ibuprofen. I have now changed to a job whereby I am now only working days, and decent hours at that. After 3 months I feel I am slowly getting into a decent rhythm. Still occasionally need a nytol though.

So they turn you into Gary Glitter?

I use the Calm app on my phone.
Listen to a sleep story and as long as I force myself to focus on the words I always fall asleep by the end.

I've got ADHD and so my mind tends to work overtime thinking about all sorts of stuff by the sleep stories - talking about Alaskan mountains for eg - focus my mind on the words and I fall asleep.

Have tried the sounds/sound apps/music....but I can't sleep with earphones in (even though I used ear plugs every night) and it means once the audio has finished I have to take the earphones out and I'm once again awake.

There's these ear band headphones doing the rounds but from the reviews I've read, they're not yet ideal.

Normally get to sleep fairly quickly if I have an audiobook which I always have.

However these days I can only sleep for around 5 hours in total, bang on 4 am I am always needing a piss and then get back to sleep and I am awake for 6 am.

Listen to LBC on the radio. If the phone-in is on an interesting topic it's good to listen to, and if it's a boring topic it sends me to sleep. Win-win.
