Slovakia v England match thread

Can't believe Big Sam's wankfest over Rooney. He just said he can't tell Wayne where to play because he has more international experience than him. And then he blames the lack of clinical finishing on the rest. Unbelievable.

Allerdyce isn't qualified to create a team that needs to break down packed defences, he has no experience in it - he is more suited to managing Slovakia

That said, with his defensive organisational skills, we might do something in knockout games

Yeah, lose on penalties!

Still getting over the 'Brilliant' remark from fat Sam. Even the soppy West Ham fan can't have thought that, surely?

Nope. Didn't think Rooney was brilliant tonight - no harm in the manager saying it though, wants to credit the captain and keep morale up.

As I say though, performance and result doesn't matter. Fans will just slag off and moan about anything. Read some good posts on here about how the FA needs to restructure etc ... And all this being posted after a good win for a England, a good result away at a tough place, a clean sheet, a game we could have won 4 or 5 nil with all these shit players, crazy how this shit manager with a shit squad managed to win. Maybe they deserve some praise. Nah thought not.

I suppose if you've not got eyes or the power to think for yourself then yes, it's great the manager has bigged him up. Otherwise it just comes across as treating the watching public as idiots.
Our first shot on target was in the 60+ minute and only a sending off saw England dominate. So yes, under those circumstances they were worth the win but that overall performance could have been any England game over the last 6 years.
The fans might stop complaining when they see a change. Under Sam that is highly unlikely.
People like you jumping in to defend mediocrity is far worse than those calling it for what it is.

I admire your backing of England mate.after all that's what being a fan is all about.Only saw the last 15 mins and heard a bit of the first half on radio 5 so can't really comment on the performance..
But where do you get the idea that Slovakia is a tough place to go ?
Never in a million years would I describe Slovakia as tough.unless you are arguing that any international match away from home is "tough"... as in tough for England because they are not very good..please explain.

Missed most of the match
Can anyone please give us a run down on sterling and stones performances, I'm aware Raheem was subbed.was that down to being ineffective.?
How was Stones defending and passing out from the back..?

Sterling had good & bad moments. Notas good as for City on the whole but not bad either. Was one of the only players actually looking for the ball & trying to do anything with it.

Stones was excellent on the ball, better than the midfield & mostly ok at defending but not asked any questions. All in all, the best player on the pitch but he of course isn't allowed to be named that officially.

If Jack Wilshire wasn't such a fucking twat shithead waster, he would walk into that team. There is lierally no creative talent at all in midfield, just Rooney pretending, & John Stones who is a better footballer than the various troglodytes who are supposed to do the job, but is a central defender.

What should happen is we should fuck off the next couple of tournaments, put someone like Eddie Howe in charge and dump everyone over about 23. Just keep trying kids from various reserve/youth teams until we find a bunch to go with Stones etc.

There is absolutely no point in trying to combine that bunch of neanderthals & Fat Sam into a tournament team. It is just a waste of fucking time. The best they will achieve if everything goes right, is failure without humiliation.

I agree. We've resigned ourselves to treading water for however long fat Sam is in charge. Eddie Howe was my choice too. It needed a complete overhaul of both players and style and an acceptance of maybe not even making the next world cup in preference of having a team that actually has a chance of doing something a few years down the line.
