Yeah but you could save £11 a year on average. Well worth so much government money being wasted. And the your tea doesn’t get cooked and you have a cold shower

Not sure if this could be enforced, what do they do if you simply ignore them? Would they break into your gaffThats what has got them worried - interestingly they want the regulator to act - whats the betting that translates into the want the regulator to force every consumer to have one?

against your will? It'd have to go through parliament I suppose, and when people discover the facts, as most are probably
not informed or bothered, I can't see it happening, but I'm no expert.
What’s the situation with water meters? Are they fitted compulsorily when there’s a change of home ownership? I can’t remember but it might give a pointer.
Not sure mate, I'd have one of those for sure, but it can't be done in my little gaff, for various access reasons. What’s the situation with water meters? Are they fitted compulsorily when there’s a change of home ownership? I can’t remember but it might give a pointer.
I'm with Ovo Energy at the mo. Every month they call and we chat about smart meter installs. I agree they have the potential to be a good idea, but I'm not having one until it's very smart; the capability to show you that when you switch on the teasmaid at 06:00, how much will that cost you to make a cuppa whilst you try to make yourself decent, whilst hiding your morning glory. Or, with the TV on standby for two weeks holiday, how much does that cost? Etc etc. The technology isn't there to say 'hello, I recognise that you have put a 400w fan into upstairs socket 12 and this is costing you £x.xx per minute'. Every single appliance will need to have Bluetooth for this to happen. At the end of the day it's bloody obvious what uses a ton of power, condenser drier, washing machine, kettle, lots of 100w lamps on all the time. Turn them off! Don't need a phone app to notify me about that.

I'll go to my dad, but any further into Meldrew territory is too far, way too far.exactly - just become your dad and wander round switching stuff off - there was a reason Dads did that and followed us all around moaning abut stuff being left on........
