Smart meters - what is the purpose?

Companies get the profits and no savings passed onto customers at all. Thieving cunts. I don't have one yet, and like the above poster, I can turn things on and off whenever I feel like it.

well fuck a me a my-oh - turns out they save you just £11 a year !!! The companies installing them are doing ok (out of the tax payer and bill payers though )

I still don't get the reason for them - I am already in charge of my energy use - I have off switches and plugs I can utilise ffs

There is no reason for them mate, I've been mithered a few times and fucked them off, telling them
the old one is just fine, the reasons being that I can read both gas and leccy meters, put the figures into my account on line,
and Hey Presto! the amounts I've used, plus units, on both, appear immediately. You can do this every day if you want, and each day will
give an up to date reading, no need for this smart meter nonsense, it's for their benefit, not yours.

exactly - I just keep telling the the same - don't want one

doesn't sound like there is much point with recent info stating it could save you £11 a year - wow

Thats what has got them worried - interestingly they want the regulator to act - whats the betting that translates into the want the regulator to force every consumer to have one?

THATS THE PLAN .....Reduce consumption whilst increasing prices .....we've yet to see any price reductions from the FREE electricity produced by wind farms have we ? Despite the fact that we as Taxpayers have subsidised the wind farm industry. Now we're told that they're inefficient and that to pull out of the agreements in Scotland alone would cost £3 billion alone

time to end this ideological crap and go for a non profit making power supplier ........ re - nationalise the fuckin lot
