Companies get the profits and no savings passed onto customers at all. Thieving cunts. I don't have one yet, and like the above poster, I can turn things on and off whenever I feel like it.
There is no reason for them mate, I've been mithered a few times and fucked them off, telling themwell fuck a me a my-oh - turns out they save you just £11 a year !!! The companies installing them are doing ok (out of the tax payer and bill payers though )
I still don't get the reason for them - I am already in charge of my energy use - I have off switches and plugs I can utilise ffs

the old one is just fine, the reasons being that I can read both gas and leccy meters, put the figures into my account on line,
and Hey Presto! the amounts I've used, plus units, on both, appear immediately. You can do this every day if you want, and each day will
give an up to date reading, no need for this smart meter nonsense, it's for their benefit, not yours.
doesn't sound like there is much point with recent info stating it could save you £11 a year - wow
Thats what has got them worried - interestingly they want the regulator to act - whats the betting that translates into the want the regulator to force every consumer to have one?
You read the meter, scream "how fucking much?" and switch off an appliance or two. Simples.Did they give any explanation of how it saves you £11 per year?
And the your tea doesn’t get cooked and you have a cold showerYou read the meter, scream "how fucking much?" and switch off an appliance or two. Simples.
