A life ban for a bit of smoke? Cant agree with that at all

Whilst not sure about a life ban I take exception to the 'bit of smoke'. Read my posting about the three people affected by smoke at another Villa match etc. the young and the old can be affected by smoke. Plus the young boy killed by a flare abroad.

As the Deputy Chief Constable who is leading the Football Policing group states: "It is no way appropriate to let off either smoke flares or fireworks inside a stadium. Those that argue that it gives a European flavour to the occasion are plain wrong."

I know how I am affected by smoke of any description so you may say that I am being selfish but I am only one of many and I am not, and never have been, a party pooper I think both smoke bombs and flares are not appropriate at a match. JMHO

EB I can guarantee that the ones making the most noise about how safe they are, will be aged between 14 and 21 !!

Apart from me OC, I can see the OP's point however you have to take into account what Loukas said above, away games are lively and people will be jumping about, singing, swearing, spilling beer, getting aggresive, fighting, people letting off a smoke bomb isn't up there as a serious problem for me, however the person who let one off next to a 10 year old girls leg clearly doesnt have any common sense, i've had bricks, bottles, lighters, coins etc thrown at me at away games, it's not a library and it will get a bit lairy (sp).

Take a look at this thread I started a while ago, the vast vast majority are FOR them...

I find the notion that those who take their kids to away games with them should be "aware of the risks" quite amusing.

so all of this is ok because 'its what happens at away games'?

I also find your hypocrisy on smoke bombs confusing - theres nothing wrong with them but don't you dare let one off when there are children around

I am aware of the risks when I take my daughter to the game she comes away with the lads all the time but when a guy just lets one of near my daughter is out of order if it happend to any of you . You wouldn't be happy

All a bit like throwing bangers to me. You get a little older and you kind of grow out of it.

But still, it's an away game, so I guess you are allowed to do what the fuck you want. Looking forward to pissing in someone's pockets on the concourse at Chelsea then in that case.

Not condoning any of it, just saying it happens, its all against the law and shouldn't happen, just saying that it does and i'm sure will continue to happen.

well it shouldn't just be ignored and accepted, yes I love a good, lively away atmosphere, but things that put people in danger like fighting, throwing missiles, flares and to a slightly lesser extent smokebombs, belong in the 70s
