Its common practice in the UK to treat E Cigarettes the same as conventional ones - i'm a non smoker so couldn't care less but I doubt this is down to Showsec - City are just following normal precedent.

I,m an ex smoker I got throat cancer so gave up with patches 7 years ago but it was hard, and unless you have smoked its difficult to explain the urge you get, its an addiction. The next generation will be better informed but the older guys still need their ciggies and 90 minutes is a long time for them. Cut them some slack in your opinion of them.

It was policed very well today as well, I am pleased to say although I heard reports that one irate smoker was having a go at security as there were two stewards in the toilet area and he did not feel comfortable (a likely story)
I know it seems such a minor thing, but to be able to go for a piss without being chocked with clouds of noxious smoke is a real improvement, the non smokers are happy anyway

Isn't there some concern over their health safety, now? After all, aren't they full of chemicals, being sold in numerous dodgy shops popping up all over and not fully tested?
Reckon organisations are worried about legal implications in the future IF they prove harmful to users.
I'm not a smoker and it has pissed me off at City and other grounds when smokers fill the toilets at half time but why can't City do the same as at Cardiff last week and let people smoke outside. Provide a ring fenced area at either end of the ground and let them go half way up the spirals away from the entrances. Then everyone's happy.
They let them smoke on the spirals during the summer and when I asked a steward why he said "well it's a different venue when it's a concert" and I told him it wasn't but he couldn't give me any other reason.

I'm a young lad (15) and have a season ticket in the south stand (116) and my first season in there I remember going to the tiolets, i was about 12/13 and I remember this smoke bombarding me, I was only small so I couldn't stand a chance of getting to the toilet, I used to have to walk to a different one, now however it doesn't bother me, I'm taller now so can get through , there were police outside the toilets today, they were thinking about coming in to kick people out, but bottled it cause there were too many people, I think they should just let the smokers have a designated section it would save the stewards trouble from kicking people out and would ease the access to the toilets

Is it because City have hired the ground out to another company and it's their rules? Doesn't sound right though.
