Smoking

i'd like to know the average age of the health & safety bods on here my guess most of them never seen the 70s, wadeing through piss at blackpool, being pissed on from the upper tier at everton, hiding in walton cemetery untill the sousers with the stanley blades had gone home, lol they wouldnt have lasted two minutes untill they ran back to mummy complaining
If it says no smoking than so be it, but you're spot on with the difference in things. It's like luxury going to the game now, I would imagine.

I tried to find that video of the woman smoking by the liverpool dugout. Instead , youtube showed me loads of videos by this bloke who seems to go around liverpool and other cities and just film women smoking.....

No smoking on council land. So that includes outside the stadium including city square (although this is not enforced)
That is not a "law" though is it.

No but it explains why we cant have smoking pens (which I support).

Not sure if its all council land but defo the stadium grounds
I'm pretty sure the club could get permission if they so wanted, what with the amount they pay the council and the amount they are investing.

If they don't I can see a few saying feck it and watch the match in the pub where they can nip out for a cig

is it just one toilet, I don't know cause im in the family stand and don't frequent the scary parts of the ground, where people smoke and shout rude words at each other, and dare to stand up to watch the game. if so then why not just let them have it and everyone else avoid it, there are loads of toilets surely. compromise and common sense. and for you lot moaning about having to breathe in some smoke for 2mins every 2 weeks is a nonsense, its not gonna hurt you, I bet your the same morons who are now trying to get smoking banned in beer gardens aswell actually in the bars.

Something to do with the law and Environmental Health. The club have a resposibility to enforce the ban.
There should be an outside area for half time smoking though.

How many times have you been in an enclosed room with a car running?

You must be pretty thick.

Exactly. Stupid analogy.

The facts are pretty simple on this - as Ducado alluded to in the OP, those toilets at the back of 110 have been a safe haven for dozens of smokers to gather at half-time. The amount of people smoking in such a confined space turned a simple piss stop into a thoroughly unpleasant experience where it was impossible to go for a leak and not be exposed to the vast amounts of smoke. And as we all know, it has been clinically proven that passive smoking can be life-threatening. None of this is an exaggeration - it's a fact. And the fact is that I can say with absolute certainty that the exposure to cigarette smoke in those toilets was far, far greater than any exposure I've ever experienced in any pub or club prior to the smoking ban coming in.
It's not a fact that 3 minutes of exposure once every two weeks for 9 months a year is life threatening is it you big girl.

Rick773 is spot on, if the club can figure out how to take the roof off and add more seats I'm sure they could come up with a couple of half time smoking areas. I have to agree it was much better in the toilets (111) at half time, I have never smoked myself but beer fags and footy have been together forever and if someone wants a cig at the match they should be fooking allowed IMHO .

It's not the club who has decide this, its the law of the land.
The law of the land that they can't erect a couple of smoking pens?

Now now Sam, I'm anything but a big girl. I'm just stating how bad things had got in those particular toilets and while "3 minutes every 2 weeks for 9 months a year" doesn't appear to be much on the face of it, it's still worse than no exposure at all and despite you appearing to claim otherwise it still presents a potential health risk:

Most experts conclude that moderate, occasional exposure to second-hand smoke presents a modest but measurable cancer risk to nonsmokers.

For the record, I'll add that I fully advocate the club setting aside an area for smokers. Given the money invested over the past 5 years, it's not too much to ask them to do something along those lines.

moved seats and a chap near me stinks hoping he will go for a cig to cover up his smell.

going to start saving for one of them posh seats bet everyone smells nice up there.
