Sneijder (continued)

Re: Gazzetta: Sneijder completes €36m move to City (continued)

Actually your post is a weird one because there is no definitive quote from sneijder saying he would prefer united, there is ones twisted by the british press to make it look that way but no quotes attributed to him that say that at all.

The press in the country where the selling club is based have mentioned nothing of any possible deal or quoted him saying he wants to go to united. The press in the country where the buying club is based have twisted many quotes to make it seem like he wants to go there but have refused to print full quotes and basically cherry picked to fit their story so actually its still relevant

To the dutch fans we have, what does Sneijder actually say in this interview, is he saying Manchester Utd or Manchester FC

Surely the Community Shield has shown that United are much stronger than most of us assumed. Couple that with the fact that they won the league easily last year without what most would consider a great squad. They have not had the financial meltdown I expected. They have not been destablized by Rooney's threats to leave. They go on and on and on. They are the devils club for sure and are going to be strong for a while yet.

We need to concentrate on ourselves for a while and accept coming second place if second place is a step in the right direction in the long term. I think this season will be tough. The most important thing for me is that we begin to "tick". I'm not sure Sneijder would be vital to us. I'm not sure who would be 'cos I am not sure why we aren't as fluid as we probably should be. At a guess though it's someone who has "vision",can pass acurately while still having pace. Sneijder is close but doesn't have the pace. Maybe Nasri and Augero are enough. And maybe if they aren't then it's not the end of the world.

I just want us to play well. Only this. Iz important.

Well said mate. United are a very very good football team, and I don't think we are at their level yet. We will be though.
If we finish 2nd this season it would be fantastic, and third would also be okay, but we need to cement our place in the top four.

As the poster above said, what I am looking forward to this year is momentum, long runs of us playing up to our potential. If we can manage to do that we will not be breathing down United's neck. and who knows where that will take us.

As WS has stated that he wants to join the Rags and will therefore NOT be joining City any time soon, can somebody please lock down this thread.
According to your post this thread is over, yet you still post in it. Bizarre behaviour.
Yours is a weird post. I am simply asking the Mods to lock down this thread as the topic is no longer current. I cannot do that myself.

How irritating is it when people say "close/lock this thread"?

Of course the topic is current.

Until he signs for whoever the thread is current...the sanchez thread ran for days after he actually went to Barca..

Re: Gazzetta: Sneijder completes €36m move to City (continued)

I cant believe some people are just giving up on the league already. Look we were dreadful on sunday i dont think anyone is disputing that and it still took this apparently incredible united team a last minute goal off a mistake from our skipper to win the game, after our own striker missed a very easy header, yes they are good but im not about to bend over for them as thats one of their greatest assets that most people believe they are beaten before they get on the pitch which can be seen when you compare their home and away records last season.

Remember last season chelsea won the community shield and started off amazingly well, everyone was saying call the league off now we are all fighting for 2nd theyve got it wrapped up and they didnt win the league either.

Lets give credit where its due but lets not go nuts either

The thread is current until people decide not to discuss it no longer. End of :)

Re: Gazzetta: Sneijder completes €36m move to City (continued)

This year will be about who loses the games they shouldnt have..if you know what i mean.. Top priority is to win all home games, then win away to teams youd expect to, then get points away you didnt expect to..

Sounds so simple.. but thats how its won or lost.

Agree...can't understand why it should be locked down when he hasn't signed for anybody yet.

The fat lady is about to clear her throat though....but will she sing the song everyone thinks?...
