So, if we don't win the Prem..

No.

We were 11 points behind 1st place last season, we will be closer this season - progress.

We have won a trophy which we didn't do last year - progess.

We reached the last 16 of the Champion's League which we've never done before - progress.

If we don't win the Premiership it will be a massive disappointment, but this season won't have been a failure.

This is also Pellegrini's first season in English football. I imagine he will be better next season when he has an even bigger stamp on the squad.
Factual, and to the point. Cracking post.

From my point of view I it's a case of have I enjoyed it or not. This season has been hugely more enjoyable than last with the league cup being a big highlight. But if hypothetically we'd won the FA Cup last season and only win the league cup this season, even though the former would be considered a better season I didn't enjoy it as much.

I've really enjoyed the football we've played and we've seen players play to their potential far more frequently than last season. Hopefully we can pull it off and win the league but if not I won't be too downhearted. I'd rather watch us than Mourinho's Chelsea and that's even if they do win the title.

There are a lot of good points in there, it has definitely been very enjoyable for the most part & we've played some top, top football at times. I think that's my personal problem, I know how good we can be so it pains me to imagine a dire (but extremely effective) Chelsea side beating us to the title. I'd probably feel better about Liverpool winning it, because at least they play good football in a similar manner to us.

I think if we don't win the league this year the club will have failed in the two seasons since we did.

No individual will be to blame, not Mancini, not Pellegrini or any of the players, but with City's money and squad one league cup over those two seasons will not be a good haul.

At the moment the new, rich era in our history just seems to mean the 'same old City' bungling operates at a higher level than it did before.

We still have the COC and I've now seen us win every available domestic trophy in just under 3 years (4 seasons). Success for me in MP's first year. Plus, we know exactly where we need to strengthen in the summer.

Knowing and doing are two very different things as seen in the previous 4 windows!

I think It'll be top priority in this window, just as bringing in Fernandinho was obviously top priority in the last one. Centre half wasn't our weakest area at the end of last season, Lescott and Nasty were still doing very well. It is now.
