Upon reflection, I must confess to a degree of doublethink on this subject, because whilst I never like unfair or unwarranted criticism of our club, I do quite like us being outsiders, discrernibly detached from the ancien regime.

If I ask myself: do I want us to become fully a part of the self-satisfied, sanctimonious establishment, the answer is no. Given the way our media operates in this country I'm not sure there's a happy medium where we get a fair press without completely compromising one of the things that differentiates us from the likes of Arsenal and united.

I'd always want us to retain an emotional distance from those who sought to exclude us from their little club.

If the price of that is to continue to get a degree of unfair coverage from the cockroaches of the press, it's one I would willingly take.

We are the nouveaue riche mate...the ancien regime fucking hate that fact!!

Can we have a big anti-City bias thread so that new ones don't get started every time someone gets pissed off at a comment Sky Sports?

Those who believe in an anti-City agenda within the media can have their own place to talk and those who don't believe will know not to go in there.

Stops the arguments and keeps the MODs happy.

The problem, I guess, is the offspring of the nouveau riche. What will our next generation of supporters be like?

Children of self-made men aren't all grounded 'men of the people' like wot I am ;-)

Good point, well made but may I point out that a mod started this thread?

We are lucky enough to watch one of the best teams/squads in europe, in one of the best stadia , we regularly win trophies and have annual trips to wembley , we dont have to sell our players , and we can buy virtually any player who becomes available (despite FFP) , most other supporters of football clubs would be thinking "you lucky bastards" , and now we want to be loved and adored ? . Success breeds contempt , perhaps we should treat the pathetic media ramblings with the contempt that they deserve .

That's an excellent view and every word written is true. However, you missed out one important thing. We are only human. It upsets me when we don't get the credit we deserve or we see a media love in for United and Liverpool. As you say it shouldn't hurt but it does.

This is the definition of hurt. David Pleat dancing across my fucking pitch was like your first true love breaking your heart. A stupid story in the press saying that each City player has been given a £100K Watch is a bit of toothache.

I don't want toothache all the time.

So why post in here then?
You don't like the thread so stay out of it. Go and hug a tree somewhere.

That's not really my point.

I don't dislike the thread, but I think it'd be a good idea. If anyone wants to reference an anti-City bias incident they can just find it here too.

Has it occurred to you that people, and City fans in particular, actually quite like bickering amongst each other?
