So if Chelsea win it having spent a shit load of money, that's fine then. Same with arsenal?

He's going to find it hard to find a team to win it which hasn't spent any money! Pompey maybe?

This
Just lazy lazy opinions. Ever since the PL every team that has won it has done it with money spent heavily. Of the top 4-5 we have probably spent the least net this season

I can't help feeling that there is an ingrained feudal psychology feeding this sort of attitude. They have bought into the idea, propagated by the media, that there are two or three "elite" clubs (plus Chelsea) who have an almost hereditary right to be at the top and to enjoy the privileges that entails including spending vast amounts of money, pontificating on how other clubs conduct themselves and generally looking down on everyone else. McDonald is an intellectual serf and those who share his views are doomed to be cap-doffing peasants forever. Good luck to them, we know different.

Nail on head. Just could'nt think of how to express this. They refuse to accept that other clubs have spent money to get success. Its quite a bizarre attitude.

The reason for the agenda behind MCFC range from subtle digs to down right piss taking. I don't care what reasons are behind the agenda whether it's the 'money', the fact that we're in the process of knocking the rags off the map, the fact that Pellegrini gives NOTHING away in his interviews, the fact that the club are All business or despite the fact that money can't buy success we've won the EPL twice in the last three years. Let's face it we've pissed on their chips big time and they can't do a thing about it. It must be driving them nuts.

Their argument is we didn't 'earn' our money.
There is no point in going over this fallacious argument again.
Our owners had no option if we had to break into the cartel.
The drawbridge has now closed thanks to FFP and we're inside the castle.

Driving home from town last night and saw BT Sport have yet another billboard ad that's negative towards Arsenal with a picture of them conceding against us with the caption "City 6 Arsenal 3" at the bottom.

Also the 50 Years of MOTD programme; the ONLY goal they spent a bit of time on was our Kun's 2012 title winner.

Don't think their is an Agenda, per se. But have to admit I read a lot of shit written and talked about us by the media.
There is always going to be examples like the above.

People like yourself that keep posting these arguments, seem to think that it, negates any other argument.
Just because we have a nice shiny advert showing us scoring, doesn't mean to say that everything else,
re City and the press doesn't exist.
Indeed but why have a thread that only talks about the negatives? There are people who genuinely think there are absolutely no positives ever about us in the media. That fuels a genuine paranoia within our fanbase, which also goes towards people getting so caught up with this "everyone's against us" balls that they ignore any positives about us ever written or said about us, even when told, they don't want to accept it! They won't let themselves, or they're just far too over sensitive to the negatives. I've seen people pick up on a close up on someone's face being two or three seconds too long and that is part of the whole media agenda. I mean for fuck's sake! I just thought I'd start showing how it's not the case and how it really isn't anywhere hear as bad as people think it is. And show that we are shown in a positive light quite often.

And as has been the case I've come across something around every other day so I've thought "fuck it, stick it on Bluemoon".

My point about Arsenal conceding was that in yet another BT Sport ad (also had their 6-0 at Chelsea and 5-1 at Liverpool on over the Summer) when people claim that the traditional top clubs, or the "Sky 4" are the only ones who're talked up.

This thread needs a balance, because I'm finding somewhere every few pages in every single thread that's ever on this forum has someone moaning about some sort of agenda against us, no matter what the subject of the thread may be. I really find it obsessively weird and paranoid. It's a theme through everything that's ever posted at some point. It's boring and I honestly find it a bit sad!

Start up your own thread about the positives then.
Make sure they're material and not just trivial like captions on a poster or ad, and not local media.
You probably won't find many, but go for it.

Why should I? Unless I'm mistaken, this place is a forum isn't it? If it didn't have balance or a flip side to arguments it would just be like some sort of asylum. This thread is prime to have both sides of the coin in it.

And trivial? TRIVIAL?! Some of the countless examples of the oversensitive tripe I've seen moaned about is astonishingly trivial! I find myself thinking "you've honestly let something that small bother you and further fuel your thoughts on an agenda?" Some of it is laughable and cringeworthy!

I've already found many many many...and so have many others.

Why should you open a new thread?
Because you yourself said the thread needs a balance.
What better way to do this than to start your own thread of positive City reports, rather than allowing your examples to get lost in a sea of negative City reports.
As for trivial , you accuse the agendistas of submitting 'countless examples' of trivia, so don't fall into the same trap yourself.

Kippax Citizen let me ask you a genuine question. Since 2008 have you noticed any bias against us in the British broadcasting media? Bearing in mind that for years the pundits have been crying out for a neutral club to break into the top four (and by extension break up the cartel). Yet since we've done it we've been castigated as the villains.

If this thread needs balance and I then stop putting balance into it and then start my own thread which would also have no balance, how would that work in creating balance?

Plus I didn't generalise, I didn't say all people on your side if the argument were all being trivial. It's just there are countless examples of it.

As I've said MANY times - i don't deny that there is some bias in favour of certain clubs and some sly digs about us every now and again and there is a little bit of a muted feel to when we score/win/succeed. But I also do not think it's anywhere near as bad as is made out and I find a fair number of people are living in a oversensitive paranoid world where they think everyone is against us and they seem to completely ignore any positives about us and some seem to not want to accept them. And there are a number of positives all the time.

I find people on my side of the argument far more open to the fact there are an array of types of reporting on us as well as openly admitting we aren't reported on the same as a few other clubs. You only have to see it when you get a decent article about us posted on the forum and it gets four pages of comments when there can be 25-30-50+ pages on a negative article. Positives are skated over and then forgotten quickly. It's like they cannot be acknowledged to many. And that's my problem with all this as I find it's giving a general trend in the feel our fanbase or this forum that we're a bit strangely obsessive and paranoid.

And yet we are still the English team most routinely talked about being 'big spenders' by those in the media. Surely a narrative that so conspicuously ignores the facts is, at the very least, one that is rooted in bias.

Where do I begin on this topic, I`ve held back but sod it I will not so much give my opinion but rather forward my observations, so here goes, at age of 21 in 1982, I became a national newspaper employee, that was an eye opener from the very first day, people wandering around very drunk and telling me what to do, I did`nt know who was who but blimey I do now, I have worked in most areas of the industry including Editorial and I can say with absolute honesty its all a sham, the on the ground reporting is mostly lifted from `SKY TV` monitors on every wall, I witnessed so called `interviews` being typed up at a desk with `journalists ` around the edge putting their spin on it, they have no interest in City because we don`t sell papers outside Manc.... theres more

He saw an ad 'driving back from town' anyone heard of media planning/ buying? They're hardly going to stick up a banner for Liverpool in Manchester.

Good for him, I get what Kippax is saying, great to see positive things about us (that's what we all want to see) but the odd advert or slightly positive article doesn't negate from the incessant, continual negative stuff or Liverpool, rags love ins that we sit through/ read day in day out ad infinitum.

I'm happy for Kippax to keep it up, if anything it proves what scant recognition we get when measured against our recent achievements.

That's because the rag darlings are getting their nickers in a twist about the Glazers not investing in the team. The truth is in recent windows they have spent, they have just done it very badly.

It served the medias purpose to portray us as 'buying the title' now the rags are in meltdown and on the verge of mutiny about the lack of signings Sky are seeking to do the Glazers PR for them.
