I cannot think that had City remained the up and down paupers we had become accustomed to, rather than a very wealthy, investment-led, mega-club, Uefa, the French clown Platini, the 'Old Top Four' and the assorted continental Rags would ever have dreamt of Financial Fair Play Regulations. They would not have been threatened, their cosy arrangement which they maintain via the shenanigans of the CL draw would not have been challenged, and they could have continued ad infinitum.

So you reckon if Sheihky hadn't bought us, he wouldn't have bought anyone else?

I thought that as well but an earlier post (possibly on this thread) corrected my understanding. Seems that FFP was already scheduled for introduction before the ADUG purchase.
In other words they knew what UEFA intended to do.

SSN are a mouthpiece for the manyoo marketing department, and many other outlets, as that big plastic fan base does dizzying things to viewing figures and ad impressions. They all know it, and everyone wants to keep everyone else on side.

Hypothesis. Sky Sports have been asked to assist in the marketing objectives of MUFC. Sky Sports are not unreceptive for reasons outlined above. United have reacted to the publicity noise from their neighbours, who inconveniently share half the corporate brand name and need to make sure they're clearly differentiated. United want to reinforce their 'true manchester club' message, so ask for a ban the use of abbreviated forms of the name - manyoo, man united, even the solitary 'United' is by and large out of use. They shall only be referred to as 'Manchester United'. Nought else. The viewer *must* hear the word Manchester. Even if sounds hopelessly incongruous and unnaturally wordy in the context of a naturally spoken sentence.

Neil Lennon actually said something like 'Manchester United are being manchester United like only Manchester United can be Manchester United' or some equally improbable weird sounding bollocks the other night. I mean maybe I'm wrong, see if you notice?

If I'm right, would that reveal an agenda? Or simply reveal businesses, linked by their industry, doing what businesses try to do?

BT sport, no mention of city players in Argentine line up, rags, spuds & Swansea players mentioned.

Just saying! :-)
I've ended up switching it off
I've watched three consecutive programmes on BT sport and each one, in turn, has been focussed on Manchester United even when the discussion was about Burnley's youth academy, City/Keegan years and Arsenal's title hopes were all engineered towards a vignette about the scum

From the BBC....

Germany 0-1 Argentina

What a ball! He has cost Manchester United £59.7m but Angel Di Maria has just given a glimpse of what Old Trafford can expect with a delicious pass for Sergio Aguero to volley home from close range for Argentina. A goal made in Manchester.

tbh i forget we have BT sport as it comes free with our internet

i only started watching the odd bit last week as i was getting bored and i struggled to find anything about our win against Liverpool, but i found the whole game on LFCTV

tonight everyone was out so i thought i'd put it on
it became so blatant it was laughable

Not many MUFC supporters will continue with BT if they show City stuff will they ?

Come on, they are selling to their more likely customer base.
