Soccer Saturday Sackings

Then I'd wonder what took my boss so long to sack my shite white ass.

Whilst being shite might be subjective, I think every football fan can agree that them 3 are, at best. very poor and at worst utterly abysmal. So their lack of ability isn't in question.

So if they replace a shite white pundit with a slightly less shite black pundit, do you think that's morally wrong or do you think 'well it's a slight upgrade'?
My work group WhatsApp chat, which has 15 lads who support a range of clubs from Championship and PL, including Hull, Forest, Preston, Leeds, Liverpool etc. all posted in today that they wanted them to stay so it’s definitely not “every football fan”.

They wouldn’t have lasted so long if nobody liked them.

I think it all depends on the reasons why the Sky bosses have done it. If they, as I suspect, are thinking they need to bin all the middle aged white men to push diversity, then yes it’s deeply immoral and insulting to black people.

Open opportunities to all but base it on merit.

There’s something else that’s fairly obvious as well.

I’d actually have more respect for you if you were honest and just said “I don’t want to see so many black people on my TV”.
Hahaha

You might want to check the Micah Richards thread and see my comments on how great he’s been.

2020 is a place where wanting fairness and equal opportunities not based on race makes you a racist.

Prat.

Nice sample size.

If those 15 lads have similar political and social leanings as you then I'm not surprised they want them to stay.

Did any of them say ''worlds gone mad''?

More women now watch football than ever before. I imagine Sky think if they put some intelligent women on Soccer Saturday it might improve their viewing figures

The days for 4 grumpy men taking about football are long gone and Sky needed rid of this lot(I’d argue the model) to bring itself into 2020. Also, I imagine those 3 are very high earners

Sky are not on a moral quest for diversity. Look at who runs the company! They are however, aware of the market and market conditions so do not want to be left behind

Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Alex Scott and Michael Cox would be my picks

What political leanings would that be?

They’re mostly Labour voters and I vote LibDem, well have recently.

You’re a proper bigot aren’t you?

Says the man who thinks any extra black faces on his television means they automatically must have been shoehorned in.

Hart is terrible, happy with Micah and Scott.

You been living under a copy of The Daily Mail for the last 20 years?

The ousted 3 are the absolute bottom of the pundit barrel, so anyone coming in is an improvement, even if only a slight improvement.

The colour or sex of the replacements really doesn't trigger me and I look forward to seeing who it is.

I’m not triggered. It’s been done for the wrong reasons and the replacements will be thrown in for the wrong reasons. It’s pretty simple and I’m shocked anyone doesn’t see it.

The worst of the lot was Merson, for many different reasons. He’s kept his job and to do with his mental health. They can’t get rid of him when mental health is such big news can they, yet they should as he is even worse than the 3 who have been sacked. If that doesn’t give you an example behind these changes nothing will.

I don’t think that automatically, I think it when it’s blatantly obvious.

Ian Wright has been a top pundit on MOTD for years, he’s there on merit and that’s what I support, I do not support sacking people due to their age or skin colour.
