Nope mate your right, quick lets stop buying new and better players! Barry, RSC go back we dont need you anymore! We will make do with the squad of last year and we will just give all our kids until they are 30 to hopefully prove they are good enough!

Oh you better tell our new owners that they are going about it in all the wrong way while your at it, im sure they will listen!

Oh please, i beg you to read my posts... i've said 3,4 maybe 5 times now the differnece between every single one of our post takeover signings to the possible transfer of JT.

Hahaha... our owners are going about it exactly the right way up to now. Its not them ive been questioning throughout this thread, nor would i jump on them if we somehow acquired him. Its the attitude some of us fans now have, no one has been able to explain to me why JT would want to come to us? if you could read my posts with Ticket for Shalke and let me know what you feel on that.

And i never said give our acadmey products til they're 30 to prove themsleves. or any of the other acusations and conclusions you've, once again, jumped to.

JT is better than Onuoha, Richards, Dunne or any other Cb at our club. FACT! He is the England captain for good reason and he is a proven winner and leader.

For that reason if we are in a position to sign him and he wants to come we should do the deal.

That doesnt mean get rid of anyone! They will have to work there bollocks off and prove that they are worthy of a place just like any player should do. Academy product or Record signing, i couldnt give a shit tbh, you earn the right to wear the jersey!

Does that explain why we should get him if possible?

I fundementally agree with you on that aspect, but i thought we'd moved on from there... i.e I don't desperately want John Terry i'm not saying he wouldn't improve our squad.

But, imo, i don't see why he would come other than financial incentives. Every other signing so far has football and monetary reasons. i don't see those with JT. Which is what puts me off the signing slightly.

Also, the attitude of just going out and buying the vurrent best, regardless of the consequences is not asustainable or successfull one long term, again imo.

Re: Some more info...................

Thanks again spursmad. Well Terry seems to set the cat amongst the pigeoninhos. I am sort of torn about this one as i think if this happens then anything can. I know and understand what people are saying about bringing through youth and building etc and Mr Terry being a bit of a tit etc. On the other hand our owners will have plans in place and will have a timescale for changes/developments and if they see this signing as a key one they will want it to happen as soon as presumeably. I also wonder as others have about a tie in with the umbro shirt sponsorship etc. At this rate Capello will have his defence playing together every week. On balance if he will commit to playing for us with the desire etc he has at the chavs then Yes get him in. I know it feels a bit wierd going from nice guys to winners but we won't be moaning for long when he is holding up a bit of silverware. ( fa carling whatever , not his knife and fork at a posh dinner)

I preferred it when you were concrete on deals.

If this is what the forum would like, then I am quite happy to comply.

Nah mate, i Just worry you feel you have to say everything you hear in order to fulfill the demand so to speak. You have an excellent record and are clearly in a minority of one who can confidently say what is going on. I believe you in that we are trying to negotiate the deals, its just not a certainty is all.

I imagine you are getting bombarded to buggery with PMs and have now produced the superstar that is being bayed for on here.

If you arent comfortable posting then do not feel rail roaded into doing so because you know its what people want to hear. In saying all that you are clearly confident enough to post names so fair fucking play.

I did think about this info before posting as to whether I should or shouldn't post it, because all my other post have been about 100% done deals. this latest post is about who your are after, and what might happen.

In the end I decided to post it.

It seems to have caused quite a stir. lol

Terry is like that you either like him or hate him.

It certainly has. My opinion is that if we sign him then I only want him and not Lescott. I would rather see Terry guide Nedum to the top. I could settle for that. I cant stand him or his personality but I would rather him in our team than playing against it.

Eto'o is one I am not to sure about, I would love him but Im starting to feel a little disconnected from the team I love. its almost unrecognizable from the one from 12 months ago, which I know isnt a bad thing as to move to the top we need an overhaul of average Premiership players, its just moving so fast. i just hope the current batch will now be the bedrock of the side and i can grow to love them like previous sides. I just want consistency with a bit of soul intact.

Re: Some more info...................

Forget the arguements about how other clubs fans percieve us.
Forget the discussions about Terrry's lack of respect on a Football pitch.
Forget the arguements about what sort of statement it puts out to Ned, Micah and the Academy Lads.
Forget the financial clout we have got to pull this off.
Forget the term "Winner" every pro Footballer wants to win, you dont have to shake your fists all the time.

As a player John Terry is too slow, too old and too physically damaged to be joining us for anything other than one last big payday. We can do better, we can find the NEW " John Terry". Capello might even ditch him before the next World Cup if Lescott or Jagielka can step up a notch.

He is Yesterdays man.

Mate i respect your opinion and i dont think we are a million miles from each other.

IMO Ireland, Onuoha WILL make it as they are good enough, regardless of who we sign.

I also think that MH and ADUG are doing the job in the right way, great academy with excellent buys. That however does not mean that should players of a certain standing become available we shouldnt try.

My argument on here is the frankly ridiculous one that JT shouldnt come because he is a ****, and that we would be showing a lack of class in getting him.

If he is available and he wants to come we would be stupid not to do the deal and any other club in the PL would do the same given the chance.

He would without doubt improve our squad and for that reason he should come.

All in my honest opinion of course
