No they wouldn't. I followed City home and away in the 70's & 80's religiously and never saw behaviour like I've seen at Wembley in the last 2 years. The aggro in the 70's & 80's was almost with the opposing fans - and yes it got a bit tasty!
But never the 'Blue on Blue' stuff which is all to common now. Let's make no mistake about it in very recent years some of our so called fans are disgraceful.
It's no use ignoring it or pretending it's just a minority. The fact is that it is unacceptable.

Moment to savour in the build up getting to Wembley! Whilst waiting for the TUBE I witnessed a very funny moment in which a bunch of around 6/7 Sunderland fans boarded the TUBE then shouting to a Blue on the platform "This is going to Wembley isn't it?" After shouting yeah mate, the doors began to close where he waved and shouted see yer lads, "YOUR GOING THE WRONG WAY" people around we're laughing their heads off @ their faces?????? Hope they got to the match:) Clean fun!

Mate, if 30,000 + people go on the piss all day and then all meet up together, you are always gonna get some lairy, pissheads who come across a bit knobish.

It doesn't make any difference what team, what sport or what era.

There were plenty of pissed up blues in London making dicks of themselves in '69, '74, '76 and '81.
