something is wrong

Was thinking this last night but put it down to exhaustion? Don't slate me for this but all the players looked off the pace except boeteng, and maybe silva for the best of the second half. Sluggish is what i would describe our performance as last night.

....I think it's time to rest Tev which will make some of the others take more responsibility on the pitch. It will also give Dzeko the chance to play proper number 9 role which he can't when Tev is on....

This part is very interesting, good piece of truth there..

One thing I'd say in Mancini's defence is that we probably won't see us play more as a team until next season. We've tried to build a team from scratch and that doesn't work. Next season we'll have a more settled squad and key players like Kolarov, Boateng, Yaya Toure & Dzeko should have adapted better to the Premier League. We won't have 5 or 6 new players coming in to disrupt everything.

However, I do have concerns about our midfield. Players like Barry & Milner, who should be at home in this league, just aren't adding value. They're never a threat going forward and this was shown in the Derby when someone got to the by-line and put a great ball towards the penalty spot but there was no one there to knock it in. That's where Milner, Barry or even a player like De Jong (although he wasn't playing) should have been. But neither of them was in the right place. I'd sell them both and get Krancjar from Spurs, who is much more of a threat from that position.

Spuds was in the exact same situation as us prior to the match last night, but their work-rate and performance were a lot better.

sluggish maybe after big effort on saturday, but two big factors, a rock hard bobbly pitch stopping any real passing effectivity and a ten man defence when we had the ball.
i never felt we were going to lose at any stage and we really should be putting them to the sword on a slick passing surface next week.

i think we could be reading a little too much into this.

There's too many playin' as though they are constipated. Perhaps, they're 'avin too much of that fancy foreign food at Carrington - smoked wild sea bass, pasta, salmon! Fuckin' 'ell, Bobby Johnstone ne'er 'ad owt like that! Give 'em some fuckin' chips an' a bottle of beer.

We just lack a cutting edge.....we have all season to be honest. I'm never confident we'll score more than one goal in games at the moment.
Don't get me wrong, I think the team has improved vastly in the past 12 months, especially in defense and midfield, but up front there's times when we look like we don't know what to do with the ball.

But that isn't down to quality of personnel, its down to the way we play.
