something is wrong

Bob needs to get a grip of the team now. He can't let this go on or the season could get away from us. With Mario back and weak opposition next I think it's time to rest Tev which will make some of the others take more responsibility on the pitch. It will also give Dzeko the chance to play proper number 9 role which he can't when Tev is on. Whatever Bob chooses to do, I now think we need a couple of convincing wins I the next two games to get things back on track. I also hope we've seen swp play his last game. He's soft and flattered to deceive with one run and shot over but in the last game couldn't buy a completed pass!
I think your right and that's what he could do to change it, if we don't do something it could be a long boring night in the return leg.

as we all know, we dont practise attacking set pieces in training, hence hardly any goals, we dont score from midfield, we hardly ever cross the ball, remember the goal at notts county, everyone was crowing about Micahs cross, this should be the least expected.

so simply we are heaping the pressure on our forward players to perform and score often from open play.

how many goals have the rags, spurs, arsenal, chelsea etc scored from set pieces and midfield over the last few years compared to us.

Lampard,
terry,
Ronaldo,
Gerrard,
Van de Vaart,
etc etc,

even players like Lescott, Micah who were once threats, look like they will never get on the end of a ball.

we quite simply dont chip in with enough goals from areas we should.

blame who you want for that.

Well, I thought it was the easiest 0-0 we have ever had. Wouldve liked a convincing win, but Aris wern't exactly there for the taking, also playing very defensively.
Thought some players looked jaded, maybe they cared about the recent result, we were right back in there with the right result.
I do believe that we will win convincingly at home, even 1-0 can be convincing tho not pleasing to the eye.

Like many others I get excited when we have a sniff of the summit, but as long as we can get top4 then I believe we will see better things. Established players in an established team.

Now to sit back an watch our next 2comfortable home wins.

Look at Barca and look at Madrid. It's all about chemistry. We lack the blend, the understanding. We could have Messi in our team and he'd fail to reach twenty goals in a season right now.

No need to panic I think this City team is about to take-off big time. We've got a few players out there who have real self belief and no doubt they feel they are above all this mediocrity crap and they're hurting. Plus apart from Micah they all winners and they're soon going to start to show it properly and by the looks of it raise ther game significantly. Micah is definately trying to be one them and has raised his game, so has Kompany who gets stronger and stronger. I think Dzeko will, and Ballotelli will be immense simply because he has that arrogance about him and loads of talent. There is no doubt about the quality of Yaya , NDJ and Silva all of whom could lead us in the latter stages of league and cups and well capable of leading us. Strange as it might sound I'm not sure about Tevez though. He should be leading this pack but I'm not so sure he will.

I can see why Mancini is frustrated cuase great things are there for the taking at the moment if we're preapred to grasp the nettle.

good job we didn't lose innit?

Poor pitch, pumped up opposition - with some good players by the way, Yaya and Barry outnumbered and overloaded in midfield, nobody had a good game etc etc.

Bottom line - we have to improve and we will - but not a disaster. More pace is not the answer, pace of thought and pass is. Cheer up dn - we'll slaughter Notts County!"

Over reaction or what! We were in total control of the game from start to finish and were never in danger of losing. Most fans would take that going away to a place like Greece but not City fans with their new found riches. The game is over two legs; draw away win at home equals job done.

And this obsession with Spurs is outrageous. It happened after they played Inter and it's happened again last night, our fans telling us that we should be doing it the Spurs way! Have a little faith, by the end of next season Spurs will be miles behind us.

Based on what? We've progressed this season, we bought more better players last summer, and yet even with playing in the CL (which was supposed to hinder their progress in the league), they have made as much progress from last season as we have. And they spent a hell of a lot less than us last summer. So yeah, on what basis do you think they'll be miles behind us next season?

Maybe the defeat at the Weekend hit the Players as much as it's hit us on here

When i read stories about Lescott playing XBox that night against Rooney I seriously doubt it

I also thought these comments by Lescott were a disgrace, as much of the fact that he actually said them. Total lack of empathy for what the fans were feeling at the weekend. They may not be supporters, but show a little fucking consideration for what that game means to us.

The title of the thread is 'something is wrong.'

It's a few things, in my opinion:-

1 No pace
2 Without pace, you have to retain the ball in order to open up the gaps, and last night it broke down woefully on too many occasions when poor control and dilly dallying and getting caught happened far too often
3 No leader on the pitch to give players a rocket and upset a few of them - especially when the above happened

I hate to say it, but you contrast that performance against a complete bunch of no marks and what Spurs did a little later. I don't give a **** that Aris have never lost a European game at home, or that the pitch was rock hard. We have to win those games to build the confidence needed as the season progresses. We have to get on a winning run and, having seen the attacking team Mancini put out, last night is the most disappointed I've been all season that we didn't win, and get something good to build on. The only positive for me was Balotelli coming back and looking good, fleetingly admittedly, but he's the one I'm pinning my hopes on to give the season the kick start it so badly needs.

Just hoping that, when we transplant Kompany, De Jong and Balotelli into the starting 11 we can really kick on with a bit more confidence and urgency.

I feel very sorry for the city fans who went as it was frustrating enough watching from home. At least they've had a break in the sun.
