Mary Whitehouse complained to the BBC and they then banned it on their airwaves. But the BBC knew Chuck mi dick Berry was a nonce 10 years before that song was released and should have never allowed him on TOTPs for serving 18 months in the nick for being convicted of having sex with a 14 year old girl.IIRC yes he did, like a lot of songs it was banned part way through it's chart run after they realised ding a ling was a willie.

Funny thing is, the one single from Bollocks they didn’t ban was Pretty Vacant, where Rotten admits to being able to get the word **** played on the radio and TOTP by singing va-****BBC banned the Sex Pistols in 1978 because John Lydon outed Jimmy Sadvile as a nonce.
