Soriano comments on ownership, spending power & Haaland

The media , especially the UK media has noticeably changed over the last week.

We have had some wonderful publicity and rightly so, and many high profile and once anti City voices are changing their tune.

Performances and drama like we witnessed on Sunday are doing wonders for our image, as is the way as a club we celebrated.

Things are changing and let's hope that Madrid do the business on Sunday, that will make the summer break even more enjoyable.
Not sure how you think the UK media has changed in a week ?

The Athletic have run a huge article today interviewing an LFC Exec with the staggering accusations of cheating.

Talksport spent Monday morning focusing on the ‘assault’ of the Villa keeper.

Miguel Delaney wrote the same snide article he has published a dozen times. He even admitted on a Podcast last week that positive City pieces don’t get any traction - yet his snide report on the Madrid defeat was off the scale.

The media ain’t changing cause negative City articles pay the bills.

The young unknown journalists that write all the online snide City articles are all judged on clicks. Nothing else matters. Their careers depend on clicks and positive City stories don’t get traction so that won’t be changing any time soon.

And before we start lavishing praise on Soriano - the interview was to Spanish Radio.

Here’s and idea - speak to English Radio - or the English written press - or English TV.

His nugget about State Ownership has been virtually ignored. If you wanna get it in the English media then speak to them.
Perhaps that's why he went there knowing we wouldn't get a fair hearing over here?

Spot on all interviews like this from him he gives to the Spanish media WHY!? We are a English club not a Spanish one.

This change has been going on for some time, the gobshites are still there but looking more foolish with every passing day.

You will never please all, that will never happen, but opinions are changing and the press outside the UK is stunning and incredibly positive.

When you get the likes of Liniker talking with Pep and taking the piss out of Evra in a very public way, you know your turning the tide.

Jim Shite sounding borderline sarcastic reading out the quotes.

Jordan still accusing us of dodgy finances as usual
let me guess without hearing any of it
city doth protest too much to be innocent
no smoke without fire
all smoke and mirrors
come everyone keep phoning in about how cheated you feel

Just do what what Ferguson did. He didn't say a word. When the reporter turned up at the ground to collect his press pass before the match it wasn't there and no explanation was given. He couldn't get in and was left standing outside looking like an idiot. On the Monday when the publication in question contacted United to talk about the 'misunderstanding' they were politely told that the respective reporter was banned. When they asked why and how long for they were told they didn't know. As they say, shoot one and scare ten thousand. As other posters have said Ferguson was many things but nobody and I mean nobody across the whole of the media fucked with him. We should do the same. You don't need to ban a raft of them just the odd one or two when they have stepped out of line. They will soon get the message. A lot of the media use freelancers so if they don't get in, they can't report and hence don't get paid. That starts to focus the mind very quickly.
Not sure the Fergurson / Putin will work in 2022, certainly not if you're City.

We banned Dan Roan, and we've had absolutely appalling press from the BBC ever since.

He'd have to be invited to speak his mind or get a journalist asking for his opinion or an interview so I doubt any of the UK press are particularly interested in doing that.
I don't know which Spanish paper he has spoken to but when he does speak to the press it's usually to the Spanish equivalent of the Financial Times and it's high level business stuff he's talking about. Hardly the kind of thing the Sun or the Mail are interested in when it's easier and better for the clicks to get a bullshit quote from Klopp or Evra.
