sort the pitch out.

It is beginning to look a little threadbare in places. A consequence of training on it before every game perhaps?

Hardly something worth moaning about though.

If training on the pitch means an average of four goals a game long may it continue
MP likes to train on the match pitch the day before the game but he is used to pitches in Spain with considerably less rain than Manchester. Since we are at the start of winter, the pitch will only get worse. Depending on the weather, it may be better to consider training some where else after prolonged heavy rain?
Surely less skilful visiting sides will be pleased if the pitch continues to deteriorate?

we need astro turf ... problem solved !!!

and I counted 5 toilet cleaner blocks in the urinal, this is surely excessive ??

The OP is right the pitch was bad last night. Navas rolled his ankle. It may better to avoid prematch training the day before the game in times of severe rain?

God the groundsman will go beserk - he will have to have a word with Navas - "No wonder the pitch is in a state -Jesus if you keep rolling your ankle on it. God almighty why do you think we have the heavy roller"..........................moves off into the night murmmering under his breath.

Just watched it back on tv. Muddy patches in the goalmouths, patchy grass, cutting up.

We're on for the quintuple if we win the best pitch again.

What's it called if we get 6 (the programme always wins doesn't it?)

No matter how good the groundstaff are, playing on a wet pitch in winter will damage the pitch.

The worst condition that I've seen the pitch at the Etihad was at the end of the 2004/05 season. And that was entirely due to playing in a deluge on 1st Jan against Southampton.

If we're training on the pitch then the playing the following day in wet weather, there's not much the groundstaff can do.

Did not really pay much attention last night at the game, but just watching in HD now and does look bare in patches but what difference does it make how it looks its how it plays, can someone remember a goal being scored or conceded where it bobbled and deceived a defender or keeper?

Check the valley(Charlton's pitch) if you think ours is not good, you may change your mind.
