I for one can't stand the vuvezela. Quite plain and simple it gives me a headache.

I've voted with my 'off' button and not watched one full game. If you don't like it like me switch over and hit FIFA in it's pocket. If enough people switched off or over and clearly stated that it was the vuvezela that gave them a headache they will hopefully reconsider giving it a country where the vuvezela is common place.

I'm doing a one man Victor Meldrew and not gonna bother watching. I'm not spend my spare time getting a headache!!

You could just, you know, turn the sound down. That way you can stick it to The Man, and watch the football!

To be honest I'm not a lover of watching footy on TV. I love going to games and if I can't go there I'd normally watch City down the boozer but that droning just gives me headache. If I watch footy on telly I'd like to hear what the commentators are saying about the game.

Once the South Africans go out (which will happen on Tuesday) the noise will lessen. It won't go away completely but I can see the South Africans losing their interest in the competition fairly quickly after their elimination.

i agree with all of PAMs posts on this, football is about rivalry and taking the piss and shouting at your opposite fans, its not a fucking jamboree " oh look at the dear africans"

In our culture it is, but the World Cup is in Africa so we should accept how they do things.
It's just a cultural difference, no right or wrongs. I can't see what the fuss is about myself.

Noticed another layer to this today. If a team's fans ( any team's fans) make an effort to get some proper chanting/singing going, the bastards up the volume of their fucking droning in a deliberate attempt to drown it out.

This is not cultural, it's crap. It's affecting the quality of the football as well as the watching experience and it needs stopping.

I'm not bothered about the Vuvuzela's ... its their World Cup, not ours. Other countries probably got fed up of "Footballs coming home" during Euro'96 but that didnt get banned.

We are thousands of miles away, sat in a pub or at home watching the game and we are telling the locals what they should are shouldnt do? Not good.

Besides ... when SA are knockout, all the stadiums will be empty for rest of the tournament, so those who are whinging will have to settle with the dull commentary instead.

Sorry it's not their world cup its ours, meaning the world's, and they are the hosts and the rest of the world are their guests. I think it is incredibly rude to blow monotonous one tone cretinous horns at your guests resulting in them not enjoying the party
