Southampton (A) - Carabao Cup | Post Match Thread

it's what comes with having the best manager ? sometimes they see the bigger picture and hold back the team,
we think we turn up and win every game, even in the league cup, but that comes at a cost later in the season if the manager plays his best 11 all the time,

I hate to see Manchester city lose any game, but love the winning of titles and FA cups even dare I say Champions League and the parades on open-top bus tours in the summer, all because we did not win away to Southampton in the league cup

Usually in the middle of a 20 game undefeated streak at this stage though not losing to Brentford and Southampton and drawing at home with the worst Everton side in football history.

If we play like we did last night a few more times their wont be any fixture congestion in Feb worth worrying about.
I truly can't imagine a lineup looking like that ever again any time soon. In a way it was disrespectful to Saints. Laporte must have been boiling inside playing with that motley crew. Cancelo needs to be moved in the Summer. He's way past his expiration date with us...

Its carabao cup. I hope pep learned something.
Walker cannt play central defense.
I don kno what happen to cancello?
Gomes and palmer were poor.
Grealish is not starter.
Philips is not upto the fight to compete this team.

Didn't see the match, but reading Blue Moon, it was very bad. What happened between the 2nd half vs Chelsea and yesterday vs Saints? Just the usual tinkering w the line-up by Pep or something more concerning? I mean, might not be a bad thing to be out of the League Cup & focusing on the Prem, UCL & FA Cup. 1st things first: bring on the derby!

after sleeping on it. I have to say the simple fact is players are not mentally turning up for the shit teams. because we look good against top teams while against the shitter teams we look shit. reeks of players not motivating themself. maybe non stop playing for 2 years along with the world cup has caused mental fatigue.
