So many believed Southampton wouldn't try tonight as they had a big game at the weekend yet the outran and outfought us for the whole game. Our boys owe us a perfomance at the weekend but due to our current away form I am not expecting much.

After 5 mins Southampton knew we where there for the taking so went for it

Things weren’t as good as some fans thought they were after we dismantled a shockingly bad Chelsea team at the weekend and similarly things aren’t as bad as some fans think they are now after a sub standard performance away to a quite bad Soton team who capitalised on two very poor goalkeeping errors tonight.

A far more accurate reflection of where we’re at will come away to the in form rags at the weekend. A draw or a win there and tonight will be forgotten.

Not forgotten, that line up we were always going to struggle away v prem team, BUT it shows huge disparity in quality between first and second eleven. I can imahine same gap as we had when res'es were in the combination league. We just need to accept that we have a 1st and 2nf team. No one can win 4 nowadays...just too much of an ask.vso expectations when we play our reserves should be lowered. Too much pressure on reserves like Palmer and Gomez.

Any team that wins it needs a bit of luck and there’s far worse teams than us that have won it before

He wanted to give minutes to squad players and it backfired.

Not completely Pep's fault that they didn't rise to the challenge or stake any sort of claim.

Gomez, Palmer and Philips will be bench warmers for the foreseeable future. Gomez was a disaster with the ball which is supposed to be his strength.

We have too many weaknesses to win CL. Not hungry enough to paper over cracks..teams like Bayern RM PSG over two kegs hmmmm
