One for the anoraks on here; when's the last time we completed a competitive 90 minute game without a shot on target? I suppose it may not be as long as you'd imagine it to be. Not testing anybody, by the way; I don't know the answer.

I read on another site, that it was 2018. The 3-0 Liverpool defeat in the Champions league.

I feel the full back issue is cause majority of our issues this season. The form of cancelo and Kyle's injury. We don't have consistency there. One min were playing Ake/sones at full back which to be honest doesn't help next it's inverted Rico (whos been great) then it's cancelo, then back to overlapping fullback against Chelsea. We need to find consistency there and get Bernie back in midfield please. I love gundo but I feel like not having the legs or ball playing off Bernie in there is becoming an issue it's why the refresh in there is needed in fhe summer.

I think last night Is an accumulation of things. Let’s be honest although we did well against Chelsea on Sunday they are pretty gash at the moment. The league game before we didn’t exactly pull up tress. Leeds away we did ok but Leeds aren’t great. United at home in the first half was exceptional but since then we have looked ropey.

I think constantly battling for the league with Liverpool has worn us down a bit. I know we don’t like to give them any credit but it has been a grapple with them over the years and it takes its toll.

I didn’t think we needed a bit of an overhaul last summer. New wide players and a midfielder and most definitely a left back. We look so slow and lack width and balance at times it’s unreal.
Haaland has come in and been out of this world however he can’t continue to be the only source of excitement.

Cancelo looks like he doesn’t want to be here. Same for Bernardo. I love Bernardo but it’s obvious his heart isn’t here and he wants out. Too many centre halves. It’s not normal to keep choppping and changing your centre halves.

Ake who has done ok is limited at left back. Gundogan isn’t the same player. Foden is a worry. Palmer and Gomez aren’t taking their chances when they get them.

Grealish needs to do more. I hope he can raise it a bit more as i so want him to do well.

Phillips I think there is a player there but needs time.

It’s a little bit worrying at the moment I must admit. Although if we beat United I’m sure things will look a lot rosier.
I do think we need a fresh update in the summer. For me we needs 4 or 5 new players.

I know it’s disappointing losing to Southampton when everyone thought you were nailed on to win but Jesus, there’s some right miserable pessimists on here given you‘re favourites to win the PL, CL and maybe even the FAC. You’re the best team in the league with the best squad and best manager looking down at 18 teams beneath you in the league and you’ve won 4 of the last 5 PL titles. Theres no pleasing some people.

We are joint favourites to win the PL. Nobody can call it at the moment. (With Newcastle United as very, very dark horses).
We are among the favourites to win the CL.
Not the most arrogant fan on here would say different.

And the problem with last night is exactly what you have said. The team have won four of the last five PL titles. Numerous domestic cups over the past thirteen years. As I analysed in my previous post, #1,198, when you start feeling good about that, you're dead in the water. You start looking back at what you did, instead of looking forward to what you should be doing. You're sated. You're not hungry, you're getting fat. And complacent.

Pep and city set the targets at the start of the season and the league cup would be bottom of that list, I also feel when we pulled out Arsenal in the FA cup a league cup was semi finals vs Newcastle or United was never on the cards

Yeah absolutely. No one remembers these performances come the end of the season if were holding up major trophies. Shit at the time, but not defining of our season.

Forget united it’s only another game. I will remain concerned until we start putting in a shift against the mid to lower teams in the league. Hunger and desire to win is in short supply. We may well batter the rags and lose next week. Winning the league requires humility and hard work to gain a consistent platform. It’s the other teams we are not willing to work hard against not the United or Chelsea’s.

if I remember correctly, a few seasons ago we put out half a team in this competition when we played the rags at the swamp and effectively threw the tie. This seemed like the same thing happened again. If this competition would have a been a priority the selection would have reflected it. That's not to justify some poor individual performances. I can't imagine the top brass were fuming at 10pm last night. Pep probably more disappointed in how some players performed than the result.

Don’t lecture us or by offering false praise. Arsenal fans must be loving our fall as it’s opened the door to you lot this season. You will do anything to stay under the radar. If you don’t win it this season against a mediocre city team then you will have missed a trick.

We are favourites for nothing. As for pleasing people, the club is a winning machine and when the bumps in the road come along we can question it without being disrespectful to what we have achieved with Pep. Arsenal fan lecturing City on how to behave towards a manager is funny tho.
