To be fair, Aguero was interviewed about this a couple of weeks ago & said if City say your optimum weight should be no more than 81kgs & no less than 79kgs, you're in trouble if you're a gram over or under. He said he & several others have fallen foul of this.

I can understand that if a player comes back overweight at the beginning of the season, but not from a player who's been away on international duty with a point to prove at his club.

When you look at how poor Philips looks it just shows how valuable players like Ferna and Rodri are. If Philips can't cut it this season I reckon we will be in for another MF like Rice (although he may be overpriced and we might look for better value overseas).
Its clearly not easy to find these players. Bellingham is probably the standout with Rice just below that level, there's going to be a frenzy for those two.

My god we were blessed to get Ferna, he came in and never really put a foot wrong for us, OK occasionaly done for pace when filling in at CH but what a player. Same goes for Rodri tbf. He's never looked out of place.

Philips just looks like a fish out of water.

It was Phillips first start since may we know how rusty players get. We also need to remember the club just dont automatically sell players who says rice comes in and does any good?. I feel like we've tracked Phillips for.so long he will come good he needs that season that was awarded to rodri because lets not revise history rodri wasn't great that first year neither and plenty said rodri wasn't good enough because he wasn't ferna.

Cancelo is not a defender and will never be, his good performance is always linked to the support he gives to attack, not defense. He is always considered as one of the best left back not because of his defending skills but actually his key passes.

City should have a qualified professional left back who can defend, Gomez and Cancelo are not good for what City want to achieve.

I get people's annoyance at loosing this game. But it's a cup game which to be quite frank I'm not too fussed about. I get the worries about the squad but for me it was an off night. I feel like peps getting mins into every players legs since the world cup kind of like you would in a preseason. I feel like some.of them are issues regarding mentally due to the world cup. I also feel like we will come good.

Phillips wasn't great but let's be honest it's the guys first start for a club since may last year. The whole team wasn't cohesive so don't understand why he's getting judged off it. Are we judging gundo and foden too as they weren't any better in that midfield yesterday.

Same as young Gomez their is some rewriting history going on in regards to zinny.

I'm actually more disappointed in the senior first 11 players your walkers,cancelos who let's be honest haven't come back pulling up trees since the world cup. But we seem to scapegoat and immune certain players from recieving criticism.

Like many have said we havent been too great since the world cup and that's on the so called senior first teamers rather than the back ups. I do feel like peps doing some form of pre season with the season having been set in two.

I feel like the performance on Saturday will be totally different I think we need Bernie back in midfield.

what has gone wrong with our passing, we carnt even pass 5 yards to 1 of our players, or just blind passing and goes nowhere near our players, our passing needs to be sweet and make it to our players and not nowhere near and othe team players get ball, take the first goal, 3 times we didnt make a simple pass and got took out and they scored,and why didnt we play our first team back 4 plus eddy mind blowing, said to my mate i didnt like the look of the team and he said we are resting players for utd game, fine, but not most of our starting 11, bernie and haaland should of started and kev coming on 2nd half but no, shocking just shocking

Grealish, Phillips and Gomez are not good enough for City , not sure why we got Phillips to static Grealish was a funny one at the time as he wasn’t all that when I watched him previously ,on a lighter note we will smash them lot on Sat now especially after last nights result.

Ultimately it was a league cup game where we played a league cup string of players (save for a few). They’ve only cost themselves by not performing and showing desire, as this was their chance for minutes and a cup they’d be directly responsible for winning. As it stands, Phillips, Ortega, Palmer etc now have the FA Cup, and if we end up us out of that one, they’ll be relegated to squad player status with substitute appearances at best.

There can simply be no excuses for players whose bread and butter this year should be the cup games.
