Southampton (A) - Carabao Cup | Post Match Thread

Let's not call this performance, please! This was attitude when players want to get rid of a manager. And Pep just did it, almost goaded them into this...I don't know even how to call it. I cannot even believe this was possible. This has been like Middlesborough 8:1 catastrophe. Even in his first season he didn't have such poor result. FUCKING SHOCKING!!!!!!

Brentford Everton and now Southampton - complacency has set in - Pep needs to sort it immediately - Grealish will never justify his fee - Cancelo just wants to showboat without grafting - Rico Lewis is better than Walker atm - even KDB going through a bad patch by his standards - not sure about Kalvin Phillips - the 100 million for Grealish would have bought a left back and a back up for KDB

I can take going out tonight, it really fucking annoying we beat Liverpool and Chelsea to go out like this and we've just handed united the cup on a plate but it's not the end of the world.

However, the patterns emerging in our game are concerning. We've become so one dimensional in such a short space of time. If kdb isn't feeding Haaland with a ball from out wide, what chances are we even creating nevermind scoring?

We're also easy to play against for so many shit teams now, and it's basic stuff. stay tight and compact and if they don't make a mistake, we struggle. villa, Brentford, Everton and now Southampton have all stopped us from winning, last few years we would get maybe 2 of those results a season at most as freak occurences or due to a sending off or something, we're getting 1 every 4/5 games now.

Pep fucked around again first half which put us in that losing position and gave us a mountain to climb so he takes most of the blame for me but we didn't look like potentially salvaging it second half once he eventually corrected it. So fucking glad I had to pass on going tonight.

Trying to find some positives ahead of league action and the derby but I'm struggling, I suppose we dont have an extra 3 games squeezed in, pep surely won't attempt some mind fuck of a formation change Saturday after that shitshow, and at least we stopped the scouse vermin from winning it.

Started far too slowly again, think they said we have scored only 4 goals in the opening 15 minutes this season.

V a team low on confidence and fans getting on the managers back already, our usual slow start passing around for the sake of it at the back with constantly giving the ball away when we played it to midfield allowed them to take the game to us which got the crowd behind them And we never recovered.

Cancelo had one of the worst performances from a player in recent memory. It's like he forgot how to play.

Phillips is nowhere near Rodi at controlling the game from the pivot In midfield. Overplaying the ball constantly the first half and nothing came off. Conceded twice because of it.
We bounce back against Them at the weekend and run through them.
Phillips was poor but thought he was handicapped a bit by having Cancelo playing infield next to him. Didn't really give him any space or time as it got just too crowded. It was his first start as well.
