Southampton (A) - Carabao Cup | Post Match Thread

We were awful, plenty has been and will be said about the poor performances, but that kit clash couldn’t have helped.

Peripheral vision basically useless. At times it genuinely looked like players were struggling to quickly determine which were teammates and which were opposition. Happened even with the players coming on in the second half.

I’d include whoever approved wearing the third kit in the match ratings with a -1/10.
Yeah I blame the kit man.

We miss David Silva, someone comfortable on the ball that can pass forward in midfield. We spend about 5 minutes passing it at the back then to the full backs who just pass it back or gives it away.
I had a thought the other day, probably more of a day dream, that we got JaSpanish Dave on loan till summer.

Oh how Haaland would love that.

In my opinion the league cup was our best chance of silverware this season.

This squad is not good enough to win the league or CL. For me tonight shown our squad has roughly a quarter of them who need to be sold.

Every single 'top team' in the Prem will have a dip in form due to the massively stuffed season.

Injuries, form and second string players will have a big part to play this season for everyone.

Swings and roundabouts.

Fatty pineapple head looks way off the pace , granted , he’s not had many minutes to show himself , but any player who gorges himself on food whilst sat on the sunbed in Qatar round the pool thinking he’s made it shouldn’t be near this team with that attitude, and balling back to club football with his derby hanging over his jeans, just maybe they are having a WC hangover the lads who played in the tournament?

gomez was superb v chelsea, philips had to start sometime but surely pep couldn't in his wildest dreams think he was that shit, granted walker was out of position but for the rest of the team, no excuses it's on them!
He was not “superb” he played well against a very poor Chelsea team. Watch the away games he’s played, when asked to defend he is shocking.

Dreadful decision somebody needs a kicking for allowing it.
