Southampton (H) | Post-Match Thread

well that was a veiled threat pep - directed to those on the bench tonight or those on the bench from now on ? Are we talking performances or stubborn contract negotiations ?

Well, I'm going to go against the grain and say that I didn't think it was a strange game but it was entertaining.

Southampton are a side that always have a game plan under RH that makes like difficult for us. They can really press well when they are at it, and they were early on.

City needed some time to get a grip on what Southampton were doing and get The Rag game out of their system. I thought it was mailed on for us to score with our first attempt after that start to the game.

They got back into it with a soft and I still think debatable pen but our quality told; nothing strange in that. Only strange thing is a team actually coming out to play.

Words fail me on VAR but it looked bent today.

Nowhere near our best. We were lucky we were clinical. Fair play to Southampton for playing proper football. Thought they were excellent for the most part, barring their errors.

All this is moot as we should have had a penalty and playing against 10 men for over an hour.

I don’t criticise refs often, but Moss was absolutely shit tonight. Loads of free kicks missed as well as the blatant penalty.
Moss missed nothing, he just chose not to give us anything, the bent prick. Think we need to get used to this type of ref decisions now until the end of the season. Pigmol will give us fuck all, but bend over backwards to give decisions for our opponents.

From BBC

"For all Man City's success and wealth (just look at that squad!) their club lacks the most important thing, a soul. People may laugh but the reason other clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal amongst others come through hardships is because of a real fan base that helps to push the club on coupled with genuine principles that these clubs live by. Money is part of the modern game but aside from this what do City have? A belief in the academy? Loyalty from players? Or fans? I don't think so. Would Pep stick around if they were still at Maine Road without the wealth? They can't even fill their own stadium at the best if times. Yes they'll win the league but they won't win the hearts of football fans."
Alex, Yatton

1. Of course the bbc post this on the match feed.
2.We should start a collection for Alex so he can buy some books, get some internets and realise History started a lot fucking earlier than 2008. FUCKING MARDY ARSE ****.
BINGO ... Full house

That’d be Yatton just outside Bristol. Wonder if Alex supports Rovers or City? Bound to be one of those two teams.
