Southampton (H) | Post-Match Thread

He looked close to naming players who'd stay down or make a meal of a tackle, Lescott bottled it then, should have just said Salah, Vardy and Martial would have been rolling around.
Too right and what inventive is there for honest players to stay on their feet and go for goal. Happy for the win but that non-decision should be marked for all Blues even the doubters. Thats not a mistake thats clear and obvious cheating. Fatty Twat Moss had the opportunity to watch on video but he was so myopic against is the thought never crossed his mind. Nor did the shitheads in Stocky Park who have more cameras than the CIA, NSA and MI6 together still failed to see what Sky did. There's no excuse, no mistake, no...that was a clear and conscious decision to rob us and no Blue should forget it.

Walker dross. Laporte clumsy. General performance poor but job done! Foden and Bernardo help make things happen and Mahrez was very good again. Gundogan quietly went about things nicely and De Bruyne looked a lot better. Southampton are going places if they can just nail that balance.

Anyway, I wasn't overwhelmed with our performance.

Southampton really made us struggle with the ball, and we lacked the control to handle it. Fortunately, Southampton's press left their defence vulnerable and we did a really good job trying to exploit it.

Mahrez, Foden, Dias, Zinchenko, and Ederson all impressed me individually. Mahrez in particular. I think collectively we showed a strong attitude and that was really important to our win.

It was nice to see Aguero, Torres, and Mendy all get minutes.

I expect this performance to be a blip. I think against Fulham we'll be back to our robotic, living in 2nd gear best.

Pep Guardiola: "I don't understand why Fulham is not allowed a goal vs Spurs. I don't understand the hands Arsenal vs Burnley. Another example is the penalty today. Jon can't see, but VAR is there. I never complain about the referees but this is in-cred-ible
Sounds like a whinge to me however the penalty on Foden was as clear as they come how VAR didn't overrule it defies belief unless Stevie Wonder was responsible for the decision.

At worst they would have referred the ref to look at it and a penalty would have been given.

is it that absurd that refs who make mistakes like all players do throughout games can't have them altered.

VAR is just not cracked up to what it should be because the officials are not brave and look at the game as they should with the use of VAR.

Pep Guardiola: "Tough game. The team that makes us suffer the most this season, without the ball they have a process to press incredibly well. After two shots on target we scored two goals. In the first-half, Jon knows, the VAR did the rest. Second half we were much better

Pep Guardiola: "Unfortunately at 4-1 they scored the second, and we have to avoid it but in general, another victory, Fulham. Today the quality of our players won the game. This game belongs to the players, Riyad, Phil, Kevin, they won the game
