Southampton post match thread

A game cannot be potentially the biggest game in our history it either is or it isn't, the only semi final game that is a teams biggest game ever is a team that as never got past that stage or never won a league or promotion

If we win a Champs League semi final at the Bernabeu , it will be the finest result in our history to date , so its also potentiailly the biggest for me , but i admit i only started supporting citeh in 2008 :)

I tell you something....if Mike Doyle or Andy Morrison was in that team today they would be cleaning the blood off the away dressing room still!

I suspect so. As noted above, I've not seen the whole game but I don't need to know how they played. We have too many players without the heard, grit, character, mental fortitude or whatever you want to describe it as to tough it out game after game in this league. That is not the only issue by any means but I believe it is has been a consistent problem of major proportion and I firmly believe numerous changes need to be made to the squad to give the next manager a real chance of producing a side that delivers far more consistently than any we have yet had.

So in years to come you have your grandson on your knee and he asks what what the biggest game you saw as a city fan amd you say the semi final of the cl? Not the qpr game or the Stoke game? Very strange

Three years ago we 3-1 to Southampton and it looked like the end of Mancini and a few players, Barry notably.

Today was worse in that we know Pellegrini is gone but we needed the points.

It was pretty clear the likes of Zabaleta and Demichelis are past it, Kolarov doesn't give a crap, Delph is nowhere near good enough for us, Bony is unfit, off form and doesn't fit the team, Sterling's confidence is shot. 5 of our starting team weren't at the races. Two moments from the only player who wasn't embarrassed stopped it from being a rout.

The manager yet again got so much wrong. Had his excuses in early, his team setup was wrong and as so often we were disorganised, complacent and lazy. Yet again the opposition worked harder than we did.

If we continue our woeful record against decent teams next Sunday we will miss out on the champions league. Considering our form this season we really can't have any complaints.

Likeable guy he is I can't wait till Pellegrini is gone.

You could argue that Pellegrini has done well to get so much out of this squad. It isn't the embarrassment of riches some make out-it's ageing and injury prone. One final push for the last 4 games and we can look back on this squad with fondness and teary eyed nostalgia for a life time.

We never win away, we lost today, and we may win on wday away. We didn't lost last week and we lost today
We don't give a fuck but a 70 pages thread. 'Cos we're all pissed up.
We engineered a starting XI that should'ave been the same as that at the Bridge for the fa cup.

I am sick of us conceding multiple fucking goals to ordinary teams.
