We were by no means great but it was a wonder goal that lost us the points, 9 more times out of 10 he'd miss that. We've got Silva to come back, Jovetic to come in and most importantly we didn't lose like Chelsea or the rags.

Regroup and get ready for Arsenal who couldn't beat the rags away and are coming to the Etihad where we are pretty much irresistible. All in all a not good but decent day.
that's the spirit
Love this.

If you want to know why the atmosphere at our place is poor, you just have to look at the majority of posts on here tonight
Three questions for you.
1. Are you one of the happy clappers?
2. Did you see the game?
3. Do you expect us to be doing cartwheels after a performance like that?

I think he's trolling

Beat Arse n' hole next week and we will be flavour of the month again... Many sides would of capitulated there today, we held out for a point, so it is nowhere near as bad a result as some are claiming on here!

Sorry, it's a bad result. With the players at our disposal and their injuries, there is no way this result can be
dressed up as anything other than disappointing. But that result occurred from another very poor
performance away from. Aston Villa didn't capitulate the other night and I think more teams will
get a result there than you think.

Few players had off days and the way we played a point was a good result in the end, could easily have lost it.

a point was a fair result?

dunno what game you were watching mate...dick turpin would have been proud of us today
Bull shit. In the first half Aguero and Nasri missed absolute sitters at 1-0 A game of two half's but no way did we rob anything.
Southampton didnt miss sitters then?...have a word with yourself fella...we were mid table at best today and a second string soton should have buried us

Some proper negativity on this thread.

Extremely valuable point against IMO the best team we've played all season bar Bayern.

Thought we were extremely resilient and solid as fuck. Their goal was a worldy finish and I have to hold my hands up and say fair fucks to osvaldo. Other than that they didn't get a guilt edged chance to score despite a lot of possession. They threw a variety of situations at us and we handled them well.

Annoyingly we had 3 chances at 0-1 to finish the game but were wasteful. This has cost us the 3 pts.

In the grand scheme of the season a point at st Mary's is and will prove to be a very respectable and significant point. They will finish top 5 and are a very very good side.

I fancy Everton tomorrow. Chelsea dropped points. Utd are hilariously shit.

A decent weekend in my book.

Good post

Puts me in mind of the hysteria when we drew at home to Sunderland 3-3 in the season we won the league - look how important that point turned out to be.

I am afraid the hysteria will last all night on here, slowly getting worse as the night wears on

So hoping Everton win tomorrow,

I honestly cannot believe how easy we are making it for Arsenal, at this rate winning the League Cup will look like the only success we can maybe achieve this year.

Strange substitution from Pelligrini to bring Dzeko on. Toure not performing well but bringing on another striker ruined the formation again and left us vulnerable in midfield....AGAIN.

Aguero missing targets uncharacteristically and most of the final balls were woeful. Barely deserved a point.

C'mon Everton!

Weird substitution. Putting Garcia on was also strange. Anyone with a knowledge of the game could see he wouldn't cope against southamptons energy and quick passing. That's what really worries me about Pellers, very rarely does his subs make an impact in a positive way. We were outclassed and outfought and but for poor finishing we would have been swept aside.

You could understand the criticism if we lost , southampton created fuck all either and only scored through a wonder goal

You didn't actually watch the game did you?

Soton had 15 shots, 4 of which were on target.

Face it, they should have son that game really.

Far too many sub-par performances as well. Not just the team.

Zabaletta = dreadful (chested through ball to Aguero aside).
Milner = Worst he's played for us in years.
Navas = Worst he's played for us.
Dzeko = Dzeko.
Aguero = Wasteful.
Negredo = Worst he's played for us.

Who could hold their head up high after that game? Panty? And, er, Fernandino perhaps?

Harsh imo.

In what way?

What was he supposed to do in 10 minutes with no service? (Just to point out I don't rate him at all, just don't see how he can really be criticized today)

Not a good performance at all but a positive to see us grinding out some kind of result away against a good team when we are having an off day. Also if we beat arsenal next week then I reckon this will look a decent point.
