Zaba, Fernandinho and Yaya all on 4 yellows.

No bookings Saturday boys, need you 3 for Arsenal
wait, just looked through games and Zab is on 2, Fern on 2 and Yaya on 1, must have miscounted, where did you see that?

Not sure if that is all competitions actually.

Wanyama out would be huge, he's impressed a lot so for.

I live down here and that's not the way Saints fans see it.

Many saying the money spent on him and Osvaldo was a waste.

I'd be fearful of Lallanas guile and Rodriguez movement but not much else.

Mind you, I said similar last season !

Unfortunately I haven't seen too much of the Saints this season, so I don't have much to go by. Agree Lallana and Rodriguez are a handful, only reason I mentioned Wanyama was because I remember taking notice one game that he made some really well timed, hard tackles, and broke up several waves of attacks quite well, without giving up a foul. They still lost the game - I think it was vs. Chelsea. Perhaps it was just a one-off...Anyway I thought if they have lost their best defensive midfielder, the less chance of them disrupting us when we are in possession, the better. Also keeps the ball away from their playmakers.

Will be a tough game, perhaps more so than people will care to acknowledge, they are not a push over team, they too play the possession.

I think it is all competitions, seeing as # of games played for some of the players is more than PL games we have played so far.

None of our players are at risk of a suspension. These are PL stats (Yel column):

OTOH, Jack Wilshere is on 4 yellow cards, so one against Everton and he misses our game.

Nearly every pre match thread this season ( including) home games has had a fair amount of pessimism, considering they got beat by Villa I think we have a fair chance all things considered, we have just beaten a side that drew against our two rivals

Felt much better about this game after a quick look at the Southampton Forum. Apparently they have a lot of injuries, a dodgy keeper and they are not at all confident. Hope they are right.

He isn't exactly firing this season so I'm not bothered. Ramsey is probably more if a threat

Again the main priority is to get 3 points, no matter what. The WBA-way without the last 15 minutes. It would be the perfect base to go into a week with Bayern and Arsenal as opponents.

Southampton are a very good team and their (unknown) manager has done a great job over there. But the seem to be on a slide and maybe it's a good moment to play them. I would be very confident if it wasn't for these nightmares with Barry slotting in his own net. It was probably the most dreadfull leaguegame we've played in the last 2 or 3 years.

They are a bit hamstrung (no pun intended) by injuries atm, as mentioned. Biggest miss, from what I've seen of him, is Scneiderlin. Very decent player.

Current injury situation

V Wanyama Calf/Shin Injury no date
N Clyne Hamstring Injury no date
G Ramirez Illness no date
M Schneiderlin Groin/Pelvis Injury no date
A Boruc Fractured Hand 5 weeks
K Davis Back Injury no date
G Do Prado Knee Injury 5 weeks

I'd also go with this team, tell them to play at a really high tempo for the first half and try and put the game to bed early as we should have done vs WBA

Two keepers. Schneiderlin is a key midfielder and Wanyama is the guy they got from Celtic. Think Danny Fox is a defender and do Prado is a reserve striker. Clyne is a right back.

Good news for us, but they still have some good players, and they thrashed us last season with similar injury problems.

Yaya is doing well to have only been booked once in the league, much improved on the last couple of seasons
