Spanish police

I haven't had chance to read all the twelve pages before my post as I only returned at three this morning and now work is callling but the stories I have heard from genuine, decent blues who were on level three is sickening. A lady witnessed far worse violence than that captured on camera. Another young lady saw a lad beaten with batons for taking out his phone to record the attacks. He was beaten and then dragged out and she did not see him again. I have no reason to doubt the lady who I spent time with on the day of the match and met last night. It is not a crime to take a vid on your phone and that is what youngsters do, to be beaten savagley by police for doing just that is a disgrace.

There were unprovoked assaults all over the place mate - I had my own little meeting with them for daring to make my way up the steps to my seat from the concourse. If I'd been acting like a dick, I'd be the first one to hold my hands up but I don't think attempting to take my seat constitutes acting like a dick. There's a vid on the MEN site but it doesn't even tell a fraction of the story as that's just one incident. Some daft comments on there saying the fans brought it on themselves - sure, there are a few remonstrating with the police but that doesn't warrant being attacked. Not only that, but at the very start of the video you see a girl being consoled by someone so some bad shit has obviously gone on that wasn't caught on camera.

When I collected my ticket and wristband on Tuesday, City were saying Madrid police had requested passports be taken to the game as opposed to other photo id which is what the original letter and e-mail from the club said.

Fair dos, I misunderstood!

That was the point I was trying to make. That vid is nothing to the stories I heard on the flight back to Bristol last night and it wasn't 'drunken Blues' or 'idiots who wanted trouble'. After the match whilst still inside the stadium (tier 4) there was a line of riot cops but it was noticable one was stood in front of his gang. I saw him shove a child aged, I am guessing, about 10. He did it for only one reason, he wanted the childs dad to react (or other Blues nearby) fortunatley no one did. I couldn't see the look of disapointment on the shite because Mr Hard man had his visor down but he wanted to provoke trouble.

This is unrelated to the violence but here is a quetion for City. Why was there an entire row and a half of Madrid fans, with children in Madrid shirts sat in the fourth tier ? it was around row 5 - 6? and all left after 80 minutes to avoid being kettled.

Well how come I've never been asked for it?
And if you read the letter City sent it was Photo ID, which is normal in Spain, it was City that changed it on the day.
When I collected my ticket, I was told photo ID not necessarily passport at the stadium. I took my driving license and no-one asked to see it anyway.
