I was pissing myself for a long time looking at how some of our fans thought we would get him, perhaps it's just wishful thinking. Mourinho will always get his own way, and what he wants is the Rags job. I'd love to know why you think Perez would be in the slightest bit pleased with a semi final defeat and no La Liga title again. For me he's probably as trigger happy and egotistical as Roman - so Mou is about as secure in his job at Real as Carlo is at Chelsea...

The point is, it's not hard. Too easy in fact. I get bored.

Where are we going to find someone else like that? Jose doesn't want to come. Hiddink is Roman's man.

This guy Villas Boas is "special". Risky to hire, as too young, but good.

He is very risky.

The risk is huge, but so is the upside. Mourinho, if we got him, would be gone in 3 years to win a WC or Euro. If we got Villas Boas, and if he is the genius he appears to be, he might be our manager for 40 years.

I say this: if we can't get the very best among the proven managers, I'd rather take a risk on Villas Boas than someone like Rafa, Capello, or Van Gaal.

How absolutely foolish would it be for Real to rid themselves of the self proclaimed 'Special One' when there is nobody better qualified to win the club honours as him?? Regardless of what happens, this season, he'll be given at least one more year to succeed.

To Real, there is only downward quality from this man, so they will grin and bear this season to get somewhere next.

Mourinho will have to walk or be sacked, and I can envisage neither scenario after one year in charge. What will happen is a clear out of players to fund the next chapter.

I think this is pretty much the picture and the hopers will be disappointed, yet again.

Yes there have been talks, meetings and cards are now on the table for all parties involved.

It still doesn't mean that he will be City's manager come next season as that requires Mourinho to be fired by Real.

If that does happen watch this space.

Cheers pal, but are you sure that Real are happy with us talking to Jose midway through the season?

I would have thought that he may have been approached by a 3rd party again and they've sent info back to the club as to what his thinking is, but nothing concrete.

As for being sacked by Real, even if they don't win the league or CL, then I can't see them wanting to pay the severance fee and have to look for a manager who will clearly be below the standard of Mourinho. And he's said that he won't walk, so?
