I'd be disgusted if city sacked the manager without lining up a replacement. That's what any sensible business does
Oh, yeah. Happens all the time in American football that the head coach is fired and no one is lined up beforehand... which inevitably leads to the team going into the tank for the rest of the season. American football has one thing European football doesn't (with the exception of Germany) and that's a salary cap. Puts teams on more or less an equal footing when looking for a new coach. Go in the tank in the Premier League and you lose out on Champions League and Europa League and your salary structure goes haywire and your players can force moves (can't in American football) and unless you have a Kenny Dalglish waiting in the wings, you might as well hope you manage to scrape by avoiding relegation.jjeangi said:Actually if that's the case, it is unethical.taconinja said:Hogwash. It's not unethical at all. And before you start whining at me, I'm a Mourinho fan... and if we're able to hire him we best do it before firing Mancini.
I remember this topic of ethics being discussed on Espn in america. Granted even though it was about american football, everyone thought that speaking to (not even hiring yet) a 'coach' while another one held the position was disgusting. Same concept, regardless of sport. That's like spitting in somebody's face.

"After days of discussions between Real Madrid and Inter, a record breaking compensation package was successfully agreed on 27 May 2010, and Mourinho was consequently released by Inter"
He didn't actually walk away from it. Real wanted him and they paid Inter the fee. He's never resigned a position yet.

He's simply pieced together articles and quotes from varying sources over several days and created one to match his own blatant agenda.
I pity the clowns that purchase the rag and, worse still, believe his nonsense.

Wouldn't mind but you have to laugh, it is full back page headline sports news without a single piece of evidence or quote.

The truth is we are still seen as a laughing stock by many in the media so if we are to get rid of this 35yr old monkey on our backs, and subsequently wipe the smiles off the faces of these arrogant twats, then we need to start producing and tomorrow provides perfect opportunity - this is our very best chance to put down that marker, lets just hope the players realise that and are up for it,they need to be.....

Honestly, I think they took them far too lightly because of the manager's silly team selection. Led them to think that Liverpool would be pushovers.FantasyIreland said:dadnlad said:no sorry i think most of the players will think sod it lose tomorrow and hope stoke win then we can have a weekend off

So what were most of the players thinking at Anfield? or did that debacle not take place in you world?

The team may not have been as strong as it coud have been, however,we are apparently fortunate enough to be in the enviable position of having one of the most talented and expensively assembled squads in the league.
We should have been able to expect any eleven players from that squad to at least go there and match their effort and make a game of it - to some tune, they didn't!
Mancini had no option than to take the blame.
Who do you happen to think I was blaming if not Mancini?FantasyIreland said:taconinja said:Honestly, I think they took them far too lightly because of the manager's silly team selection. Led them to think that Liverpool would be pushovers.
