Yes, I went to the Grand Final 2nd leg at Leicester last night, great to see them lift the trophy in front of a good few hundred Aces fans who'd made the trip.Belle Vue Aces the champions of 2024 !
We used to do the same. And when the Ace's were away, we would go to the stock car racing at BV.As a kid a long long tine ago I listened on the radio to the news of Peter Craven's death. Went regularly to BV in the '60s, '70s, we'd make a day of it, sometimes see City in the afternoon then walk over to Hyde Road for the speedway, free admission to the funfair and ride the Bobs after.

It was sold out last night. You did well to get tickets. I went to the 1st leg and they worked hard to get the thing on with the amount of rain.Yes, I went to the Grand Final 2nd leg at Leicester last night, great to see them lift the trophy in front of a good few hundred Aces fans who'd made the trip.
It's a complete anorak sport but I've always maintained an interest since my old man used to take me to Hyde Rd in the mid 60s/early 70s.
"2 - 4 - 6 - 8,Used to go regularly back in the 60's. Big crowds then on a Sat night at Hyde Road. Went to a World Final at Wembley after watching City beat Spuds at WHL in the afternoon. Belle Vue had 1st & 3rd that night with Ivan Mauger winning whilst Soren Sjosten ended up 3rd after a run off with Barry Briggs. That was a great night for us Aces fans.
In those days for a while Speedway was England's 2nd most popular spectator sport, behind football - it was hugely popular.
